Our Lady of Mercy
NEWSLETTER | TERM 3 | WEEK 9 | 11 September 2024
Dear Parents and Carers
Today’s Edu-Dance concert was a wonderful celebration of the Arts, with each student showcasing their unique gifts and talents in the dance routine. It is such a delight to watch the joy on our students faces as they performed their routines.
Thank you to the many families who attended our Open Afternoon to see their children’s work on display in classrooms and to celebrate the wonderful growth they made over the course of this academic year. Our standardised testing results in Years 2 to 6 have shown that most students have made excellent progress and opening our classrooms is a great way to showcase student learning and growth. If you were unable to attend the Open Afternoon today, classrooms will be open tomorrow morning from 8:00am to 8.30am for families to visit.
We are happy to announce that Antonio Muto has been appointed to cover Alison Ryan’s position as Assistant Principal while she takes maternity leave. We warmly welcome Antonio to our beautiful school community at OLOM. I know you will all make him feel most welcome at our school.
Next week, I am away attending a Principal’s conference. In my absence, Alison Ryan will be Acting Principal. I would like to take this opportunity as it will be my last newsletter for the term, to thank you for your support and partnership in what has been a busy but productive term for us all. I wish you and your families a restful holiday break.
Please keep our Year 4 students who are celebrating the Sacrament of Eucharist for the very first time this weekend, in your prayers. First Holy Communion is a significant celebration as these students draw closer to Christ through experiencing the true presence of Jesus is the Holy Eucharist.
God bless you all.
Ondine Komnick
Principal
