May 7, 2025

PRINCIPAL'S PAGE
Hello North!
As we head into the final stretch of the school year, I want to share a few important updates:
Although the district has set the last student day as June 25, our last regular day of high school classes will be June 13. Final exams begin on June 16 and run through June 25. The full exam schedule is included in this newsletter—please review it carefully.
We're also excited to announce our annual plant sale, which will take place next week. Students and staff are invited to purchase plants for just $4 each. All proceeds will benefit our Unified Club, and we’re especially looking forward to our Unified Assembly later this month.
Don't forget: the annual school budget vote will be held on May 20. We encourage everyone to come out and vote at North High School in our gymnasium!
In addition, we’re proud to announce that three of our students—Giselle Maurice, Ryan Shaw, and Grace Stierheim—are running for a position as student representative on the school board. NHS students will have the opportunity to vote through WITS on May 20. Be sure to check out their campaign videos, which are included in this newsletter. Good luck to all three candidates!
Thank you for your continued support, and let’s finish the year strong!
Go Spartans!

END OF SCHOOL YEAR CALENDAR CHANGE
2025 BUDGET VOTE AND BOE ELECTION INFORMATION
Dear Families:
We are asking for assistance regarding student parking, specifically on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
Tuesday, May 20, 2025 is the date of the District Board of Education elections and Budget Vote and all parking lots will be extremely limited. We will have approximately 120 less spots than that of a normal school day. We ask that all students find an alternate way to school this day, such as parent drop off, carpooling, or by riding their assigned district provided bus. This is a normal school day, and all students are expected to be in attendance. Please reference the attached letter with additional information.
In addition, North's Drama Club will be hosting a chicken barbeque dinner that afternoon in the lower cafeteria from 3 p.m. until sold out.
Lastly, we ask that you as a community member, if able to, participate in the Board of Education elections and budget vote held in the gym at North. Please be sure to come and vote between 7 am - 9 pm.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
Best regards,
North High Administration

TRANSPORTATION EFFICIENCY STUDY
The District is conducting a Transportation Efficiency Study to help optimize transportation in the District.
The Transportation Efficiency Study is now open through June 2, 2025. As we prepare for the 2025-2026 school year, our goal is to ensure efficiency with overall ride time for students and also streamline arrival and dismissal at our buildings. Parents/guardians need to submit a response for arrival and dismissal for each child.
Please note that once a parent/guardian makes their selection, the Transportation Efficiency Study will no longer be available. If indicated that an individual will not need busing and circumstances change after the study closes, parents/guardians can contact the Transportation Department for transportation requests.
JUNE 2025 EXAM SCHEDULE
On Wednesday, June 11th, 2025, we will administer the New York State Geometry Regents Exam. This is a regular school day for ALL students. Only students who are enrolled in a Regents Geometry course will follow an examination schedule on this day.
All other Regents and locally developed exams will be administered during the last two weeks of school (June 16 – June 26, 2025). The full exam schedule is available on page two when you click on the link below.
Transportation during the exam weeks will run as regularly scheduled in the morning to transport students to school for their exams. We will also provide bus runs at 11:30 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. for students who need transportation home after their exams. There will not be a late afternoon bus on June 25th, and 11:30 a.m. will be the last bus run for those days.
The school cafeteria will not be open during the exam weeks, and lunch service will not be provided by the school. If students have two or more exams in one day, they should bring lunch or make other arrangements.
If you have any questions regarding any of the end-of-year exams, please contact your child’s teacher or school counselor.
