2024-25 Issue #11: Wednesday, March 12
Reminder: Our superintendent finalists will be visiting the District on April 1
Welcome new District Office staff!
Nhu Le, new Fiscal Specialist in the Business Office
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, and organizing my home. We currently live in Port Orchard, where we cherish our time together. I am also pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration at Seattle University to expand my knowledge and skills further. I’m excited to support the team and contribute to the continued success of the district.
The Bremerton Schools and Alumni Foundation Grants Opportunity
The Bremerton Schools and Alumni Foundation is awarding a second round of classroom grants for the 2025 calendar year.
The purpose of this grant is to impact as many students as possible and not limit to one particular teacher or classroom. Think "bigger" and ask yourself, "What does our school need that can positively impact our students as a whole?"
A few examples of what the Foundation would like to fund:
- Assemblies
- Motivational/Public Speaker
- Field Trips
- A gift to school for future benefit (i.e. S.E.L space, community corner, house meeting supplies, etc.)
The grant application (Google Form) which has additional details is linked below. The grant pre-approval process is not required for these grants, but principal approval IS required for all submissions.
Applications are due April 4, 2025. Funds must be spent in calendar year 2025.
Questions: Please submit questions to grants@Bremertonsaf.org
Do you know families with a student starting kindergarten in the fall?
Kindergarten registration is now open!
We've got a number of events planned this spring and summer for our incoming kindergarten students and their families.

ParentSquare tips, tricks & reminders
With ParentSquare you can...
- Send a direct message to a parent with (or without) a voice clip (and without having to look up their phone number in Skyward)?
- Create a post that also feeds to a classroom (or club) calendar?
- Respond to comments to a post so that all parents can see the responses, rather than having to respond to a bunch of different individual emails?
IMPORTANT REMINDER!
Parents do NOT have to use the ParentSquare app to receive our communication. If we have an updated email and/or mobile phone number for them in Skyward, they are getting our communication via e-mail and/or text message. The text message will link to the information in ParentSquare but does not require them to log-in to view it.
Elementary teachers: Why not try a more efficient way of scheduling conferences this year?
Schedule with ParentSquare’s Appointment Sign-Ups! ParentSquare has made it even easier for families with multiple students or shared custody situations. See the FAQ for best practices.
As a reminder:
ParentSquare is the district’s adopted platform and is the mandated tool for communication with students and parents.
ParentSquare has replaced Remind*
All staff in the District are automatically set-up with an account.
If you have not activated your account, click to view this helpful “Getting Started” guide
If you need additional access in ParentSquare, please contact your principal or supervisor.
There are lots of training articles accessible by clicking on the question mark in the upper right hand corner, once you are logged-in to ParentSquare. There are links to training in every staff newsletter. Check out the archives here.
*WST staff still have access to Remind through the end of the school year.
