ROCKS Spotlight
We had a GREAT first few days last week and have enjoyed having your students back in the building!
As we start this new school year, we have a few attendance policy updates that we would like to communicate. Due to new state codes, we have placed a focus on regular attendance that mirrors the Indiana State Legislature's attendance expectations and the Indiana Department of Education accountability standards.
Our ultimate goal is that every student’s consistent attendance to school produces the best opportunities for that student to equip themselves for life after graduation.
PLEASE REVIEW the attendance policy changes in this attendance letter and one-pager regarding what constitutes excused verses unexcused absences. In addition, please listen to this video which explains the changes and the way forward for the 24-25 school year.

Students are required to purchase a new permit each year. This registration form is for all drivers and must be completed prior to in-person payment and a permit being issued.
Students who still need to pay for and pick up their parking permit may do so during all three lunches on Tuesday, August 13, and Wednesday, August 14 in the Learning Center.
*Please remember to bring a copy of your driver's license and cash/check for $25.

TalkingPoints-Family Communication
Westfield Washington Schools use a program called TalkingPoints to communicate with families! TalkingPoints allows for seamless multilingual two-way communication between teachers and families. Families can choose to receive messages via SMS text messaging or through the free FAMILIES | TalkingPoints mobile app for Apple or Android.
This platform has enhanced translation capabilities, so families can receive and send messages in their preferred language. Additional tools like speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and closed captioned videos make this program accessible to all of our Westfield families.
The most important thing you can do to ensure you are receiving messages from your child’s teacher is to make sure your contact information for the “Father” and “Mother” fields in PowerSchool is correct. When a teacher sends out a message, TalkingPoints will automatically use those two phone numbers. If you’d like to add additional contacts, please reach out to your child’s teacher.
