No School on Monday, Feburary 19 - Presidents' Day
Note from the Principal
Dear Basswood Families,
Student leadership is a big focus in our school, particularly for our fourth and fifth graders. We have a lot of opportunities for students to develop leadership skills and contribute meaningfully to our community. Here are a few of the opportunities students enjoyed so far this month:
- Basswood Gives Back hosted our spaghetti dinner and student leaders were serving lemonade to our community as they raised funds to support those that need a little help.
- Basswood Ambassadors have been busy giving tours to families considering our school for their children. We entrust them to be knowledgeable and welcoming representatives.
- BWTV hosts have been producing our daily news show that includes: weather, birthdays, lunch information.
- 5th Grade Chorus delighted guests at a local nursing home with songs from their "Inspire" concert.
- BWGB student leaders are encouraging kindness this month through "Heart O Grams."
- Student PBIS Team is highlighting Black History Month in their BWTV segments this month.
- Student leaders also facilitated a school supply drive to benefit the students in Sasabe, Mexico.
As our students progress through the elementary program at Basswood, they gain strong academic skills, develop leadership skills and find meaningful ways to contribute to communities near and far. I am thankful for the ways they contribute and proud of the work they do.
We Are Basswood!
