Straight from the Hardt
Hello Ridgeline Families- A lot more great things have happened since my last newsletter. Remember the big dance we held last Saturday? I’m happy to report it was a tremendous success! The commons was very well decorated, awesome music was provided by our own in-house DJ, Mr. Kevin Egeland, and professional photos done by RHS parents Roy and Angela Powell. You can’t make a night like this go without a great plan from Junior class adviser, Mrs. Michelle Sutton, and her amazing team of student leaders who put in the time and work for all of us to enjoy! It went very smoothly in part to the dedicated group of RHS staff members who volunteered their time and support- thank you to you all!
You’ll notice down the page there is a nice tribute to our Unified Basketball Team on their ‘Senior Night’. A special Thank You to RHS junior, Maia Frederick who spear-headed this event. Maia has been supporting our Unified program as one of the “buddies” since her freshman year and has a big heart for giving back to her teammates she cares a great deal for!
We’re very proud of our wrestlers, gymnasts, and swimmers who have qualified for the State Tournament. Check out the cool pics below of our award-winning Cheer Team at their recent state competition! I noticed in the flyer and on socials that we’re also already gearing up for spring sports. I say, bring it on! Especially, the “spring” part!
Last week I mentioned we are gearing up for “Registration” and the system will be opened up to students this coming week to begin to put in their “course requests”. Course requests is a more appropriate term for what is happening. Your students are already registered or enrolled in school, now we need to find out what courses they want/need to take in order to build a master schedule and staff accordingly. Our goal is to have a finalized master schedule by June and have the appropriate courses available to students, AND have student schedules mostly done-and accurate. Next week, the finalized course catalog for 25-26 will be available to students and parents on our webpage. The course catalog should be every parents first step when having conversations or questions about next year’s offerings and your child’s plan. Course Catalog
We’re looking to get as many students involved in our annual Verde Loco “Battle of the Green” competition in March. I know the early morning practices for the dance portion can be grueling and challenging. That’s part of the ‘crazy’ of March…We encourage all to get involved in some way, such as the hall decorating competition, powderpuff football, and other events as the month rolls on. It’s a huge part of who we are and what we do, so it’s always worth the extra time and energy!
Don’t forget to click on the easy link below to purchase your very own, highly sought after, Ridgeline Yearbook. It’s a great way to capture and relive the many epic moments from the 24-25 school year. My goal is to sell out this year, so please Don’t Wait until June!
This month we are celebrating our CTE teachers and programs! Career and Technical Education and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) programs are thriving at RHS. We’ve got an amazing group of teachers who serve in these programs. Every CTE course has an additional opportunity for students to participate in competitive and non-competitive clubs. Some of the activities are DECA, FBLA, HOSA, Podcast, Robotics, and much more! I’d like to introduce the team (some pictured here) and to let you know what is available to our students at Ridgeline.

AP Environmental Science Students Take on Energy and Investing!
This past week, AP Environmental Science students tackled a unique challenge—merging energy concepts with real-world investing. As part of our Energy Unit, students explored fossil fuels, renewable energy, and nuclear power, focusing on the importance of a balanced energy portfolio.
To connect these ideas to financial literacy, students learned investment basics, including stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. In groups, they were assigned three energy holdings—one fossil fuel and two renewables (with some including nuclear energy). Each group researched real-world companies, analyzed stock trends, and developed a diversified energy mutual fund. Their final projects included a fund prospectus with a name, ticker symbol, market trends, objectives, and associated risks.
This project challenged students to think critically about the intersection of energy, economics, and sustainability. Their presentations were impressive, demonstrating not only their understanding of energy sources but also how financial markets influence global energy decisions.
Ask your student about their energy mutual fund—they have some fascinating insights to share!

RHS Wrestlers
It is hard to put into words how successful our Varsity Wrestling District Tournament weekend went last week, but it is safe to say that we had our most successful weekend in program history. Ridgeline qualified 8 boys and 3 girls to the state tournament, with another boy and girl in the first alternate spot. The boys finished 4th out of 11 teams in the tournament, out placing some ranked teams, and earning most total pins in the least amount of time. The girls will also be making history next week as the first ever Girls Wrestlers to represent Ridgeline at the Mat Classic. Good Luck to everyone who will be battling for a state medal next week in the Tacoma Dome.
Ridgeline Girls had a fantastic weekend of Wrestling. They competed at the District 6 championships and state qualifier. For the first time in Ridgeline school history...3 will advance to State and one as an alternate!

RHS Cheer
The Ridgeline cheerleaders proudly brought home a 2nd place title at the State Cheer Competition in the Traditional Medium Tumbling Category! Countless hours of early morning practices and hard work truly paid off at state. Hitting zero deductions and improving their score by 15 points during the competition season was a huge accomplishment by this awesome team, and their coaches and RHS community are so proud of them! In only their second year of competing they've achieved so much. Congratulations to our Ridgeline Falcon cheer squad!
Ridgeline Swim Team
Ridgeline boys swimming had a strong showing at the District VI Championship last weekend. All of the swimmers dropped time in their events and qualified to swim in finals. Both relays (Liam Gingras, Ethan Gingras, Josh Kautzman, and Aristides Teske) placed 2nd. Freshman Liam Gingras placed 2nd and 3rd in the sprint freestyle events. Junior Ethan Gingras won both the 200 Individual Medley and the 100 backstroke and freshman Aristides Teske won the 200 freestyle and the 500 freestyle. Ethan Gingras and Aristides Teske qualified for state in their events while also setting District VI records. It was a fantastic meet for our first year swim team!
