Mrs. Schlaegel's Weekly Update

Dear Granby School Families,

Multicultural night was a wonderful showcase of our Gators and their families cultures. The displays, dress, and the food... Oh the food!! Incredible! Our EL team and their Gators put on wonderful dance performances for all of us. Crafting, face painting, the Granby closet... all well attended! Thank you to our Granby PTA for hosting and a HUGE thanks to Miss Gordon and her team for organizing and running the whole evening. It was a grand time for everyone!! (See pics below)

We are officially finished with state testing for 3rd and 4th grades (with just a few make ups) and have 5th grade science testing this coming week. We're almost there! I'm so proud of how hard our Gators are working to show what they know!

Ahoy mateys! On Thursday, May 22, Granby Gators will unite at Granby’s annual FUN DAY!! Our theme this year will be Pirates. Arrrr!! A few important things for the landlubbers to know:

1. We need MANY volunteers to help run the many stations we have planned for students during the day. SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER: https://bit.ly/42frtUU

2. PTA has generously provided student shirts for Fun Day this year. No orders needed for students. You may order a Fun Day shirt as a parent/volunteer for $8.50 (totally optional) at https://stores.inksoft.com/granby_fun_week_volunteer/shop/home. Submit orders by April 27.

3. All students need a packed lunch for Fun Day - the kitchen will be closed. If your student needs a sack lunch from school, let your child's teacher know by May 17.

4. Check bookbags next week for more information

Spring Assessments are coming in April. Please make sure your student(s) are well rested and on time to school. A student who is State Testing is not permitted to enter a testing room after the assessment has begun.

We are thrilled to announce that kindergarten registration for the 2025-26 school year will open on January 6th, 2025. Visit our kindergarten Welcome Center website for information about the registration process and requirements.

We are excited to announce that starting in the 2025-26 school year, Worthington Schools will be offering universal, no-cost all-day kindergarten for all students. This program will provide a strong foundation for learning and allow us to better meet the needs of every child in our community.

This year, we are providing you with the opportunity to share "shout outs" to Granby teachers and staff members who have shown particular kindness or service to a Gator and/or their family. If you have a shout out to share, please fill out this form and the recognition will be shared during our next staff meeting. Thank you for taking the time to share how our Granby Edugators are positively impacting your Gators and your family!!

The USDA had school food services return to pre-pandemic operations last year.

Worthington Schools has eligibility-based pricing of meals (Free/Reduced/Paid).

All Worthington School families are required to complete the online Free/Reduced Lunch Eligibility Form. All students use their Lunch ID for meals. The student's number can be found in the Parent Portal. Select the Student ID tab and look for your Lunch PIN.

Families can add money to their lunch account through My Payments Plus. You can also use MPP to track your student's account and see much money remains on it. My Payments Plus is also used to pay other fees, like high school parking permits and AP testing fees.
