High School Saturday School Program
The window to register for Saturday School Credit Recovery Classes has been extended to 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, October 8, 2023.
Southfield Public Schools credit recovery program is designed to give students who have failed a class the opportunity to retake a course and earn credits for coursework they need to complete in order to graduate.

To prepare for the UMHSA application, you will need the documents listed below.
- Most recent report card or transcript
- Local/district assessment results for students entering grades 6-8 (i.e., NWEA MAP; i-Ready Diagnostic Assessment, Smarter Balanced Interim Assessments, STAR assessments, or Early Literacy & Mathematics Benchmark Assessments)
- State standardized assessment scores (i.e., M-Step)
- PSAT scores (students entering grades 9-11)
- Section 504 Plan (if applicable)
- IEP (if applicable)
- Student statement: Why do you want to attend UMHSA?
Guiding questions for student statement:
1. The student should be able to provide their characteristics of themselves.
2. How will the student benefit from attending UMHA?
3. What can the student bring to the school (i.e., talent and skills)?

Oakland Community Health Network (OCHN) is releasing tips for families and individuals to manage stress or trauma associated with significant dates related to a local crisis, such as the shooting incident in Oxford, Michigan. Order Free Covid-19 Tests
As of September 25, 2023, residential households in the U.S. can order one set of #4 free at-home tests from USPS.com again. Here's what you need to know about your order:
- Limit of one order per residential address
- One order includes #4 individual rapid antigen COVID-19 tests (COVIDTests.gov has more details about at-home tests, including extended shelf life and updated expiration dates)
- Orders will ship free starting the week of October 2, 2023
