FROM THE PRINCIPALS
Greetings CMIT-South Middle School and High School Families,
Happy first days of Spring! As the warm weather begins to roll in, we want to take this opportunity to remind all students and families of the importance of maintaining a strong focus on school expectations and policies. As we’ve entered the spring season and exciting activities are on the horizon, it’s crucial that our scholars continue to demonstrate excellence in and out of the classroom.
Please help us by reinforcing the following expectations at home:
Uniform Policy: Students must remain in full uniform each day. Hoodies, non-CMIT outerwear, and non-uniform pants/shoes are not permitted.
Cell Phone Policy: Phones must be powered off and out of sight during instructional time. Disruptions caused by unauthorized phone use will be addressed per policy.
Classroom Arrival: Students are expected to arrive on time and prepared for learning in every class.
We are currently in the critical preparation period for the upcoming MCAP assessments. These exams are an important measure of student learning and school performance. Please support your scholar at home by ensuring they get adequate rest, maintain consistent attendance, and come to school ready to learn.
This week was chock-full of excitement across both middle and high school!
The high school students enjoyed a fun-filled field trip to the skating rink, while the 8th grade scholars explored creativity and culture at the Hirshhorn Museum.
We also celebrated our 2nd Quarter Honor Roll recipients—high school students were recognized in a schoolwide assembly. The tenacious middle school scholars enjoyed a special continental breakfast in their honor--sponsored by our always wonderfully supportive PTO.
Additionally, middle school students who met behavior expectations in the area of Accountability, during 2nd quarter, joined in for a joyful Tiger Time Social Hour—a great reward for their positive choices!
Whew—what a week it’s been here at the schoolhouse! As we look ahead to the final stretch of the school year, we are excited for more events and milestones to come. Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting our school community. Let’s keep the momentum going as we “Spring Into Success” together!
