MECA Parent & Caregiver Update
March 14, 2024
In the spirit of collaboration and to ensure that students building-wide are prepared to be successful, UASEM, UA MAKER, MECA, and the Ivy Tutors Network are working together to offer Regents Exam preparation during Saturday Academy. We are set to begin Saturday Academy this Saturday, March 16th and sessions will run through mid-June.
Sign up forms were shared with students today via their MECA email accounts! Please encourage your child to participate if you are concerned about their current academic performance. If you have questions about whether or not your child should participate, please discuss this matter directly with your child's Advisor and content teachers next week during Parent Teacher Conferences.
Looking forward to seeing our students' hard work pay off in June! As always, if you have questions or concerns regarding this program, please reach out.
Best,

NYC School Survey Time!
It is time for all of us to complete the NYC School Survey! Your child was sent home with a survey for you to complete and return to the school as soon as possible. Once completed, your child can return the MECA school survey to Ms. Vivian in her office (ROOM 342).
You can also complete the NYC School Survey online at nycschoolsurvey.org by April 5th.
The surveys are available online in ten languages: Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, English, French, Haitian Creole, Korean, Russian, Spanish, and Urdu.
The survey is a critical tool for empowering families to be partners in their child’s education as part of the Chancellor’s vision for New York City schools. The feedback captured by the NYC School Survey helps school leaders understand what members of their community think about the learning environment at their school and informs improvements to schools and programs.
MECA encourages every parent to complete the survey because your voice matters! You make the difference!
The 2024 NYC School Survey launched February 12 and will close on April 5, 2024. Take the 2024 NYC School Survey(Open external link)
