Principal's Update #16
March 17, 2024
Message from Mr. Jackson.....
This past week we celebrated Knights Care Week that culminated in a rally and student/staff basketball game. The school community demonstrated tremendous spirit. Our student council does a great job with our two theme weeks throughout the year.
We are also in the home stretch of quarter three. There are just three weeks left in the quarter. Students, please make sure you are up to date on your assignments and prepared for any assessments.
Please see the remainder of the update below.
Happy St. Patrick's Day,
Chet Jackson
Principal
CELEBRATIONS
Ed Gerety & Anthony Sideri Present to NAHS Students as part of Knights Care Week

4 NAHS Students Recognized at National History Day Regional Conference
NAHS participates in National History Day's (NHD). NHD's core program is its competition in which students in grades 6–12 choose a topic and dive deeply into the past by conducting extensive research in libraries, archives, and museums. They then present their conclusions and evidence through papers, exhibits, performances, documentaries, or websites, moving through a series of contest levels where they are evaluated by professional historians and educators. Through this process, students develop skills in communication, project management, and historical thinking. Ben Abbott, Makenna Dube and Patricia Vo won Gold for their Group Exhibit and Alex Sturtevant won Bronze for Individual Performances.

EARLY DISMISSAL OF YOUR STUDENT PROCEDURE REMINDER
Parents/guardians of students who must be dismissed early from school, should communicate with the Main Office of the high school in advance, prior to 7:35am, the reason and time the student will be dismissed. Parents are expected to provide their student with a signed and dated note indicating the time and reason for dismissal. The student is to bring the note to Mrs. DiMario or Mrs. Khalil in the main office the morning of the early dismissal day. This communication will be required for a dismissed student to be considered “excused.”
*STUDENT PARKING FOR ELECTION DAY ON TUE 3/26
Please see the message below from Assistant Principals, Mr. Young and Mrs. Grantham:
NAHS will host another election on Tuesday, 3/26. In order to accommodate our resident voters, students that normally park in spaces 1-82 will be unable to park in their regular spaces on 3/26. Students assigned to those spaces are to park along the fence on the Route 125 side of the building facing the football field. NAHS Staff and NAPD will be in the parking lot to assist with parking. Due to the elections, it is imperative that only permitted drivers park on campus. Overflow parking in the baseball field may be limited as well because campaign workers may hold signs down there.
