Students of the Month - March
As part of our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program at Northridge, we’ve recently launched a Student of the Month recognition to celebrate students who consistently demonstrate PRIDE behaviors at school.
All staff members are encouraged to nominate students for this honor, and we’re excited to share the first group of students recognized for the 2024–2025 school year.
We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you—thank you for leading by example and showing what PRIDE looks like in action!

PTO In Action
A Special Thank You
Ashlie Reynoso, Kari Anderson, Sheena Calliham, Lori Dean, and Sarah-Amanda Lewis are stepping down from their current PTO Board positions. They have faithfully and sacrificially served the NRE community this year - we could not have done what we did this year without their tremendous contributions. When you see these wonderful people, please thank them for all they have done for NRE! A job well done, friends!
Additionally - the PTO Board would like to welcome new members for the 2025/2026 school year: Jon Messer, Bethany Johnson, Amy Diaconu, Katie Jastrom and Kara Mosely. Thank you for your willingness to fill these important roles!
Lost & Found Clean Up
The items in the photo below have been collected since mid-February. The Lost and Found rack is near the art room/kindergarten classrooms - stop by anytime to reclaim anything you are missing! New things are added everyday! Additionally - if you lost a jacket this winter, email PTOpresidentNRE@gmail.com to see if it is still in the items we have stored in the PTO shed.

Principal Letter
Dear Northridge Families,
First and foremost, I want to share how truly honored and excited I am to be named the principal of Northridge. This community’s support for the school, our staff, and—most importantly—our students is remarkable. I couldn’t imagine a better place to grow as a leader and serve.
This week, our kindergarten classrooms were filled with tiny chirps and lots of excitement as our baby chicks hatched! Students have been eagerly observing the life cycle and are learning valuable science lessons in a hands-on, memorable way. It’s been a delightful experience for all involved!
Our 5th graders had an amazing experience at AmeriTowne this week. They ran their own simulated town, taking on real-world roles in business, government, and more. From managing finances to making critical decisions, our students showed tremendous teamwork and leadership. We’re so proud of how they represented Northridge!
This week, our 3rd, 4th, and 6th graders wrapped up their CMAS assessments—great job, everyone! 5th grade is almost there, with just the Science CMAS left to complete. We’re so impressed by our students’ hard work, focus, and dedication throughout the testing season.
I wanted to share that Summit View Elementary is hosting a Parent Night on April 30th from 5-7pm and has kindly extended the invitation to all elementary schools in the Mountain Vista feeder area. It looks like a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable insights on how to support your child(ren) as they navigate today’s world. Breakout sessions will cover important topics such as Child Wellness, Building Resilience, Navigating Technology, and Executive Functioning. Please see the flyer at the top of the Weekly Blast to RSVP and learn more.
On a personal note, I’m excited to share that my crawfish boil was a big success last weekend! My three sisters from Houston completely surprised me with a visit (see picture below)! The weather was perfect, the crawfish were spicy, and the music was all country—🤠! We had a fantastic time together, enjoying great food, lots of laughter, and quality time. It was truly a memorable weekend. This weekend we will travel up to Fort Collins to celebrate the weekend with the kids. I am sure we will make a Buc-ee’s stop along the way!
Smiles,
Erin
