🌼 Capay Joint Union Elementary School District - Spring Newsletter 🌼
Dear Capay Families,
Spring is a time of growth, celebration, and new beginnings—and that spirit is alive and well here at Capay! As we move through the final stretch of the school year, we’re filled with pride in our students’ achievements and grateful for the unwavering support of our families and community.
One shining example of that incredible community spirit was the playground project, where we replaced the old tire bark with fresh wood chips—a much-needed refresh for our students’ play space. This was no small task, and it could not have been done without the tremendous efforts of our dedicated parent volunteers and PTO partners.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the following individuals who gave their time and energy to make it happen:
Byron Allison, Mayela Barajas, Chris Barajas, Juan Carrillo, JJ Day, Matt Day, Katie Day, Jim Gray, Daven Groppi, Steve Groppi, Will Keeney, Jerret King, Max Lafrance, Antonio Larocco, Rocio Leal, James Lefor, Owen Lefor, Carson Lefor, Holly Padilla, Case Porter, Zach Reed, Sara Reno, Matt Reno, Darcie Rutledge, Lumen Rutledge, David Sandy, Wes Schager, Adam Simson, Owen Simson-Hubbard, Camila Vargas, and Cindy Ward.
Thank you for showing what’s possible when a community comes together. Your work has left a lasting impact and made our campus safer and more beautiful for all students.
Whether it’s academic excellence, creativity, or teamwork on the field, our Colts continue to show what’s possible with dedication and encouragement. This season has been filled with meaningful learning, joyful experiences, and lasting memories.
Thank you for being an essential part of our school community. Your partnership helps make Capay a place where every student can thrive.
With appreciation,
Mr. Rutledge
THANK YOU, PTO!
🏆 County STEM Success!
In early March, our talented Colts proudly represented Capay at the Glenn County STEM Fair, and they truly shined. A special congratulations goes to Allie Irvin, Kate Goss, and Isaiah Wathen, who earned all three of the county-wide awards! Even more exciting—Madi Lefor, Camila Vargas, and Brenda Ocegueda Hernandez were selected to compete at the California State Science Fair! We are incredibly proud of all our students and deeply grateful to our teachers, staff, and families for their support through every step of the scientific journey.
