**You may not give a failing grade or a zero.

**Leave the assignment grade blank if they failed the assignment. Keep track and if you feel the need to make them redo the assignment communicate that to the student.

** Please remember to have grace for students during this stressful time.

Since we are off on Friday, you can choose to post lesson plans for the week of April 14-17 on Thursday if you do not want to work on Friday. Otherwise, post your lessons on Friday. Call if you have any questions.

* The 3 grades for progress reports can be a combination of grades prior to spring break and online instruction.

*This is what Ericka is doing and I think this is a great idea because every assignment receives a grade.

This week all work will be worth a grade. I will give kids 25 points per day (100 points total) for participation and 25 points per day (100 points total) for completing ALL of their work.

You have continued to answer the call. As I listen to your discussions during PLC's, reviewed your lesson plans and joined your office hours, it is obvious that you are going above and beyond the call to meet the needs of our students. Your light is shining through your attitude and willingness to do what it takes to help the students and parents with questions and other issues when it comes to learning. What a great opportunity to be a "light" to your students and LCP families. LBMS is a reflection of YOU!

In an effort to check-in with ALL of our students, I would like for you to host a "live" virtual meeting for your B3 class on Wednesday, April 8. This meeting can take place at any time during the day. Like I mentioned before, one of Mr. Bryant's main goals is for us to check-in with all students weekly. This option will give you the opportunity to see and talk to students and check on their welfare.

• Invite your B3 class to join
• Post as an assignment in Google Classroom
• Document who attends
• Call the students that do not join
• List the names of students that you were unable to connect with during the "Live" session and after placing a call here.

LCISD will alter the grading window for progress report purposes.

April 9, 2020 will serve as the progress report grade cut off for our first progress report during school closures. At minimum, core classes should have three grades and elective classes should have two grades posted in Skyward before the posting window closes.

• Post grades before the NEW April 9th deadline for our newly adjusted progress report date.

Do not assign zeros during Pirates Learn@Home instruction. You can check the “no count” box or leave the grade for that particular student blank. This will result in the grade on the gradebook/progress/report card being blank. Please remember to have grace for students during this stressful time.

*Final decisions about report cards will be made at a future date.

Here is our district plan for grading and progress monitoring of student learning:

• Core classes record a minimum of one grade per week; (Collect 1 to 2 grades every week).
• All others classes record a minimum of one grade every two weeks
• Teachers should keep samples of student work
• Online lesson modules serve as evidence of instruction
