I hope everyone is enjoying the extra time off over the three-day weekend! We’re diving right back into a busy and exciting week with a lineup of events and activities:

• Tuesday, November 5th – Fall picture retakes. Make sure those smiles are ready!
  
  
• Thursday, November 7th – Our 3rd graders will be heading to the Perot Museum for a day of exploration and discovery.
  
  
• Friday, November 8th – A special day for our 4th graders as they visit UNT for their Field Trip, We will also recognize National STEM Day, and our Art Club members from 4th and 5th grades will explore creativity at the Dallas Museum of Art.
  
  

Looking ahead, we’ll honor our veterans with a Veterans Day Assembly on Monday, November 11th. If a family member or grandparent of one of our students is a veteran, please email a photo, the veteran's name, and the student’s name to n.smith@aubreyisd.net. We’re excited to include them in our Wall of Honor.

• Anyone entering the building MUST be prepared to show ID BEFORE entering
• IDs or car tags will be checked at dismissal for car and walk ups.
• Please label all jackets, lunch boxes, and water bottles.
• Transportation changes must be sent to FESTransportation@aubreyisd.net by 2PM daily.
• No student checkouts after 2:30PM.
• Instruction begins at 7:40 (students MUST be in seats by then)
• School day ends at 3:15

Parents may pay for school lunches online by accessing the myschoolbucks.com tab located on the Aubrey ISD website. Applications for meal benefits may be returned to the campus office.

Good attendance is important for many reasons. Your child receives the maximum benefit of education by being in school every day, and numerous studies show a strong link between academic performance and consistent attendance.

A compulsory attendance notification will be sent to the parent if a student has unexcused absences on 10 or more days or parts of days within a six-month period or three days or parts of days during a four-week period. Notice it says “parts of days.” This means that leaving school early, or arriving excessively late in the day, even if the child attended for some of the day, may count as an absence.

In the state of Texas, Pre-K is not required, however, once you enroll your student in school, all attendance laws apply.
