The Bulletin is published monthly following the voting meeting of the Board. The Bulletin is designed for informational purposes to keep the West York Area School District Community informed of Board happenings and is not intended as an official record of meetings. The Board would like to thank the West York Community for attending the Athletic Fields Presentation at the township building on Thursday, February 15th. The Board would also like to thank West Manchester Township for hosting the District and allowing us the use of their facilities for this important presentation.

• President Kohler called the meeting to order and announced that an Executive Session was held prior to the meeting to discuss personnel and legal matters.
  
• The minutes from the February 13, 2024, Board Work Session were approved.
  
• A representative cast from the musical, Beauty and the Beast performed three songs as a preview of the musical.
• Mr. Hoffman shared an educational presentation about Guided Reading at Wallace Elementary.
• Dr. Davies shared a 6-year District progress report.
  
• There was public comment related to the Athletic Fields Project and replacing trees that were planted last year.
• Action was taken on the following items:

• Other matters included President Kohler sharing a statement about the Athletic Fields Project.
• President Kohler adjourned the meeting.

• Ms. Schlemmer notified the Board that an RFP will be sent out for the Scope of Work for the HS Art Room renovations.
• Dr. Davies thanked the Facilities crew for their hard work in helping to get the District cleared. thank you to Jeff and his entire crew.

• Personnel Recommendations were shared with the Board.

• Committee Reports:

• Note that internal committee minutes are attached to the Work Session agenda in the month following the committee meeting.
• Internal Committees:
• Budget and Finance Committee (Treasurer Gettys, Chair) - President Kohler reported that an audit review presentation was held prior to the Work Session with no findings. He also mentioned the budget would be presented in April, with a possible vote in May.
• CEC Committee (Director Shope, Chair) - Dr. Davies recapped the CEC Committee Meeting to include a discussion about the upcoming Athletic Fields meeting, the bulldog mascot, and the 2024-25 calendar. Next Meeting: April 9, 2024.
  
• Cocurricular Committee Vice President Rice, Chair, shared that the next meeting is March 19, 2024.
• Educational Programming Committee - Director Herman, Chair, shared that the minutes are attached. Next Meeting: March 12, 2024.
• Facilities Committee - President Kohler, Chair, reported that a meeting will be held at the West Manchester Township Building on February 15, 2024, about the Athletic Fields Project.
• Foundation for the WYASD - Director Myers, Chair, reported that a meeting was held, and they are looking at hiring an executive director. He also mentioned that Casino Night is scheduled for March 22, 2024, from 7-10 p.m.
• Wellness Committee - (Director Siatkowski, Chair) Ms. Holman reported that members are reviewing the District Wellness policy and talked about poverty levels in the District that impact student Wellness. Next Meeting: April 11, 2024.
  
• External Committees and Boards:
• West Manchester Township Recreation Committee - Director Herman reported that there had not been a meeting.
• York County School of Technology - Director Harlacher reported the 2024-25 Budget has been approved for YCST.

  York County School of Technology Authority - Vice President Rice reported that the Authority elected new leadership.
  

• York Adams Academy - Director Siatkowski - President Kohler mentioned that we would vote on the budget next week.
• York/LIU Joint Authority and LIU Board of Directors - Treasurer Gettys - Dawn's Early Light is attached.
