Mr. Mauck's Musings
Reminder there is no school Friday, November 1st for students. Fall Break was a great time to be a Wildcat. The boys tennis team competed at state and Caleb Schnarr won the mental attitude award, the volleyball team captured a sectional title, and the girls cross country team won their 5th straight sectional title while the boys added their 6th sectional in a row. The marching wildcats had two fantastic performances. We wish Caleb Schnarr and Eli Flick good luck as they compete for a number one singles state title. The cross country teams run the regional meet at Angel Mounds in Evansville. The Volleyball team heads to Jennings County working for a regional title. The Marching Wildcats are headed up to Pike High School for the ISSMA Semi-State contest. Football sectional kicks off tonight at Evansville Harrison. Good luck to all of our students and coaches. Congratulations to Andrew Stratton and Mrs. Holly Hughes for their selection as Student and Staff of the Week.
SADD sponsored Red Ribbon Week to raise awareness for students to make positive decisions in their lives. Thank you for our hardworking SADD officers and members. Some of the Young Latinos Unidos club members took a trip to Indiana State University to check out the campus and educational opportunities. They also sold delicious breakfast burritos to help raise money for the club. Our FFA chapter held a Meals in the Field activity where they delivered meals to local farmers during this busy harvest season.
Finally, I would like to thank Amy Kippenbrock and the Dubois County Clerks Office for their help registering our students to vote. Amy has brought in voting machines for tutorials and discussed the importance of voting and the overall process. She has provided us with some fliers about voting and fulfilling our civic duty. Early voting has started so go out and cast your ballots.
Have a great weekend and Go Cats!

AP Drop/Add Fee - The College Board has a final order date of November 15 for the exams that students will take next may. We will order an exam for all students enrolled in a course. If a student drops an AP class after this date they will incur a $40 charge from the College Board as a late drop fee. We would like to help any student that plans on dropping an AP class at the end of the semester avoid these fees. Therefore, any student who knows that they are going to make a schedule change to drop an AP class should see Mr. Uebelhor before November 15 to make that change now. Anyone dropping an AP class after that date will be billed the $40 in January
Several students have not turned in their permission slips for Oct 9. We MUST have a signed permission slip for each Sophomore, Junior, and Senior. Please encourage your student to get this turned into the guidance office as soon as possible.
