A note from Principal Mate
Park View families,
Next week have two opportunities for our family community to be involved at school. The first is curriculum night on September 5 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. This year, we are trying a new open house format, allowing parents and students to attend at any time during the event.
Teachers will have curriculum information available in their classrooms for you to review and ask questions if necessary. This will also be a wonderful opportunity for students to show their parents around the classroom and connect with friends and families. We hope this new format will encourage more families to attend while accommodating busy schedules. Specials teachers will be available in the large gym for curriculum questions.
While this is an open-house-style format, we continue to ask parents to refrain from conferencing with the teacher about student needs or performance. Staff can be reached via email or phone call with any of these concerns. We also have parent teacher conferences on October 10 and 11 for these individual needs.
The second opportunity is our back-to-school picnic and movie night on September 6 from 5:30 p.m. until the end of the movie. The movie will begin at approximately 7:15 p.m. This is a great way to socialize with families and connect students with new friends that they have made at the start of the school year.
I look forward to seeing families at these events! Have a wonderful long weekend.
~Mrs. Mate

Smartwatches/phones should not be on at school
Reminder: students are not permitted to receive messages on smartwatches or phones during the school day. These messages disrupt the learning environment for your child, their classmates, and the teacher. Parents are encouraged to adjust controls to limit these features during the school day. If you need to reach your child during the day, please contact the main office.
Cell phones, smartwatches, and other electronic devices must be kept out of sight in a backpack, purse, or locker during the school day. Any student who is using their watch/phone to send/receive calls or messages during the school day will be asked to keep their watch in their backpack.
Please have a conversation at home about the appropriate use of technology at school and why it is important that students are able to focus on their learning.
