It's an Amazing Ride!

One year ago I was newly back from my two weeks in Virginia and North Carolina. I can hardly wrap my head around what has happened since. Some of it because of that trip.

A magazine

The Summer 2023 issue of HeartCry's quarterly magazine was dedicated to mission work in Indonesia with a special emphasis on Papua. The cover features a woman from the Korowai tribe, and I was surprised by a very well-done abbreviated version of my book. They included a link to my website's page for the book. This link has led to exciting things.

A report

I love today's young people!! Clearly, God has special plans for them. One Sunday my pastor interviewed me about a gal in a closed country. She wants to be a missionary but had no one to talk to about it. Incredibly, she found me at the HeartCry link and now, using secure means, we chat monthly. Her dream has become concrete plans. She is just one of others who have asked me for on-going contact. I love it!

A need

I love doing Great Commission Kids . It teaches kids about reaching the world for Jesus, filling a frequent hole in children's ministries. It gives me joy, BUT I am physically slowing down. I need my energy for things that God has uniquely put in my lap. GC Kids - Someone else with the vision and skills could do it.

One Sunday afternoon a month I'm as happy as a clam hearing the latest from this extended group. Extended because some are no longer in the Spokane area, but back in their home states, spreading the good news of their assignments as official new workers under their mission organizations. They can't go, though, without prayer and financial backing. Contact me for more info.

Philip and Lainey

Doing final orientation and support-raising with JAARS / Wycliffe. and - SO COOL! Philip will be flying in Papua, Indonesia, the land of my heart! No doubt he will fly to Korupun sometimes. It will be fun to hear which airstrips he lands at, and the local evangelists and missionaries he serves.

Lainey, a certified HS math teacher, doesn't have Indonesian papers for that, but will be occupied learning all things Papuan and finding ways to engage with that face-to-face culture.

Linguist Extraordinaire

This gal is going to a country that can't be named. Nor can she be. With Bible translation as her goal, she has completed all the linguistic training available, plus knows the Biblical languages so well she can do her devotional reading in them. She is already learning languages and non-Roman scripts of her assigned area. She needs more prayer and financial support before she can go. Please contact me if you'd like to learn more. She is going to have a deep impact for the Kingdom.

Newest member

This little one arrived the day before the May Mission Chat. He isn't going overseas, but has a vital place in God's plan. Along with big brother and sister who are under school age. he will help Mom & Dad pastor their new church. We NEED pastors who will teach and advance the Great Commission. This family is so important in God's Kingdom.

And they help make our meetings lively. 😄 So does another family of three kids about the same age.

GC Kids will continue even without anyone helping, but if you like to make puzzles or quizzes or other pencil activities, and could do a page with one, let me know.


Please remember the young people who have asked me for regular talks. Do you know young people like that? Encourage them!

Zoom-Zoom!

June 20 - July 26, I will Zoom into a Missionary Hour class during Bible camp week at Camp Gilead, Florida. Each week will be a different age level of kids from grade 3 through 12, covering all those age levels over the six weeks. Each day of the week they will go through the Bible Visuals International book, Beautiful Feet Upon the Mountains, and on Thursdays Zoom to ask me questions. Fun! From past experience, I can expect the unexpected. 😁

Speaking of books...

I finally have a trailer for my book, Running on Broken Legs. A friend called the book "a paper missionary," and may it be. I wrote it with today's broken younger generations in mind, to give them hope. But it can't do that if they don't read or hear it. Paperback, ebook, or audiobook, get it at your favorite online bookstore - and be a missionary yourself!
