Do you have a passion for animals, interested in working with Seniors in our Elder community?
We are in the process of planning a Youth Service Learning Project that would combine these amazing opportunities beginning this summer and into the fall of 2024. If interested, you would work with shelter animals so that seniors can have access to support animals that would be cared for by you (feeding, taking animals for walks, cleaning them, providing training). The purpose of this would be to improve the quality of life for the animals and for the Senior Elders that would be housing the animals. If you are interested, please contact Robert Shumer at 651-336-7777 or by email at rdstujunga@outlook.com. You must reach out to Mr. Shumer no later than Thursday Jan. 18th.

Early Childhood Screening
Do you have another child who will begin kindergarten this fall or next? If so, it's a great time to schedule an early childhood screening. The state of Minnesota requires health and developmental screening for every child before they start kindergarten. Burnsville-Eagan-Savage District 191 offers this service at no cost.
Screening is an early look at a child's development and begins as early as age three. This can give parents peace of mind that their child is developing normally, and if needed, allows health and developmental concerns to be addressed at least one to two years before a child enters kindergarten.
Early childhood screening checks:
Fine and gross motor skills
Vision and hearing
Speech and language development
Height and weight
Cognitive and social development
Immunizations
Scan the QR code to schedule your early childhood screening. Learn more at communityed.isd191.org/early-childhood/early-childhood-screening
Want to Volunteer?
A background check must be completed before being allowed to volunteer, which includes field trip chaperones. Please note that it takes a few days to process.
