This Week In Band
MONDAY, AUGUST 5
- Flight School (Battery Only): 11:15am Call Time (Enter Door 29)
- Attire: Escadrille Dri-Fit, khaki shorts/long blue jeans
- Back to School Bash (Full Band/No Guard): 1:15pm Call Time (Enter Door 29)
- Attire: Escadrille Dri-Fit, khaki shorts/long blue jeans
- Put belongings in the AHS Ensemble Room (ER) when you arrive.
- Meet in the AHS Band Hall @ 1:15pm
- At the conclusion of the pep rally, students can play carnival games or may leave.
- When you leave, please go back to the ER to get your belongings (the band hall will be in use).
- Sophomores should join the band in the gym (in your Dri-Fit) as soon as you are done with Flight School.
- Rehearsal: 5pm-8pm (do not arrive sooner than 4:30pm)

- Rehearsal: 7am-8:30am
- Go to the track stadium
- LFC students will take a shuttle to LFC at 8:15am

Uniform Fitting & Registration Fees
- If you have not fit for a uniform, please e-mail uniforms@allenband.com to schedule a fitting time before summer band rehearsals this week.
- While you can see how much you owe in fees on your CutTime dashboard, you cannot pay fees through CutTime. Email susan.fulk@allenband.com if you need assistance regarding what fees are owed. You can only pay fees the following way:
- Drop off a payment (check/cash) in the AHS Band Safe
- Mail a payment to Allen High School (attention: Allen Band)
- School Pay: CLICK HERE.
- School Pay adds a fee to your payment.
- Please know that sales tax of 8.25% must be added to the final balance. Students will be billed sales tax if not added to payments.
PRIVATE LESSONS
Make sure you are signed up for private lessons! May of our teachers are teaching during summer break and are filling their schedules for the Fall. You can schedule your lessons during morning rehearsals (beginning at 7:30am) and during your band classes with most of our teachers. We have a new oboe teacher and we have added an additional bassoon teacher.
To sign-up for lessons, simply communicate with one of our teachers to schedule. If you need help finding a teacher, please don't hesitate contacting your band director.
ABSENCES/TARDIES
During summer band rehearsals, PARENTS need to e-mail the director listed below if a student will be absent - there is no Excused Absence Form. Absences/tardies of any kind during the summer band rehearsals will not affect grades or ensemble placement, however your status in the contest show depends on being at rehearsals. You may lose your marching status/assignment based on absences/tardies of any kind.

Once we begin our first morning rehearsal this Thursday, August 8th: all students are required to check-in on their UDB App. Please see HANDBOOK for information regarding absences/tardies and the code of student conduct. Students that do not have phones must check in with a band director every rehearsal. If a student is unsure they are checking in properly, they should communicate with their squad leaders as we continue to test attendance check-ins during summer band. It will be the responsibility of the student to begin checking in on Thursday, August 8th. Students that fail to check-in on UDB or with a director properly (even if they show up to rehearsal) will have grade deductions.

- Sat 8/17: Meet the Eagles (Optional Event @ Eagle Stadium): 11am-12pm
- This is not a performance, but rather a community event recognizing all the groups that make-up "Friday Night Lights."
- The event will conclude with a Watermelon Social in front of Eagle Stadium
- Students that wish to particpate should wear their Escadrille Dri-Fit shrts.
