Happy New Year
Academic Excellence
We have re-engaged in data driven discussions regarding academic performance. These are critical conversations helping to identify our areas of need and align our focused work and resources.
Building Our Future
The re-opening plan for Milford Middle School in 2025 is underway. The grade band reorganization of the district to accommodate for space and community growth has been instrumental in ensuring learning environments for all. We appreciate everyone's understanding and flexibility in embracing our new organizational model.
Empowering and Investing in Our People
Recruitment and retention efforts to ensure we have the best and the brightest in our classrooms have established Milford School District as a “Destination District”. We are committed to supporting all of you as we continue to grow and develop in our craft of teaching and embrace lifelong learning.
Supporting the Whole Student
Our continued efforts to provide mental health support and improve our Multi-Tier System of Support (MTSS) processes remain paramount to ensuring we are meeting the needs of all students. We continue to prioritize a culture committed to high expectations for all learners.
I am honored to continue to navigate our district's success into the new year and beyond. Together, as a united Team Milford, we will continue to chart the course for excellence.
Respectfully, your Superintendent,
Bridget Chaves, Ed.D.

2: Tips and Resources
Resolutions for the New Year
Each day write down one thing you’re grateful for and add it to the jar.
By the end of the year, it will be amazing to look back and see all the little things that brought you joy. For kids, this resolution helps reflect on the positives in their lives, big or small. Whether it’s being thankful for a good day at school or a fun family outing, practicing gratitude is a powerful tool for boosting happiness and well-being.
2. Read More: Reading is a lifelong skill that improves memory, builds a robust vocabulary and foundation of knowledge, and adds a richness and depth of meaning to life.

Cold and Flu Season
In the United States, flu season usually occurs in the fall and winter. While influenza viruses spread year-round, most of the time flu activity peaks between December and February.
Keeping students healthy and well in and out of school is important to their education. With the flu season rapidly approaching, I would like to remind families of the important ways recommended by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) to prevent the spread of the seasonal cold and flu virus.
