ALAMEDA ELEMENTARY COMMUNITY SCHOOL
WEEKLY NEWSLETTER: February 7
Good afternoon Alameda families! We are in need of fresh fruits, veggies and water bottles for our Valentine's dance next week. If you are able to, please send donations to the office by Wednesday, February 12. Things like mandarin oranges, apples, grapes, carrots and cherry tomatoes would be great as well as small bottles of water.
Also, just a friendly reminder that there is no school on Friday, February 14, due to Parent Teacher Conferences. Also no school on Monday February 17, due to President's Day and February 18, due to remote learning.
MORNING DROP OFF EXPECTATIONS:
If you are dropping off students after 8:00 am, you must bring them to the front and sign them in. We are going to start putting a chain up at 800 am. If you are dropping students off late, you MUST sign the student in at the front, NO EXCUSES. This is for student safety. Also, when you drop off in the morning through the drop off lane, please do not park on the street after. There is a lot of congestion and it is a safety concern. Thank you!

Please review our dress code policy. Make sure students are coming to school dressed appropriately as well as in warm clothes and jackets when the weather is cold.
ATTENDANCE MATTERS
Now that the school year has started, we at Alameda Elementary have high expectations for your child's learning. To ensure that your child can be successful, we are asking for your commitment to make sure that your child is present every day. A missed day is a lost opportunity for students to learn. Research shows students who are at school regularly, have a higher success rate as they move through middle and high school. Student's who miss consecutive days in a row will receive a phone call from the school and if needed, a home visit will be scheduled. If your student is going to be absent, we need documentation for our attendance records.
SNACKS/LUNCH
Please remember that students should be bringing healthy snacks. They cannot have chips/candy for snack. If they bring chips, they must be in their lunch box and eaten at lunch time. Sodas and energy drinks, including Prime, are not allowed. Gum is also not allowed in the building at all. Please make sure students are not bringing it in their backpacks. Thank you for your help with this.
