March: A Season of Growth and Renewal
Milford Families,
As we transition into March, we are reminded that this is a season of growth and renewal. Just like the world around us begins to awaken with spring, our students and community continue to grow, learn, and thrive. We are lucky to be part of a vibrant community where curiosity, resilience, and enthusiasm drive our students every day. Together with our families, we are nurturing the bright future we’re building for our students.
This March, we encourage everyone to BELIEVE—believe in our students, believe in our community, and believe in the bright future we are building together. March is also a month of celebration. As we welcome the start of spring, we recognize several observances: National Reading Month, Disabilities Awareness Month, Women’s History Month, Music In Our Schools Month, National Athletic Training Month, School Social Work Week, National School Breakfast Week, and will be "rockin' our socks" on World Down Syndrome Day.
Let’s embrace the season of growth and learning together!

1: Act of Kindness
Lucky to be Me - a positive affirmation activity for March
The arrival of March means spring is almost here! A welcome change for most of us after making it through the cooler winter season. The third month of the year is also associated with March Madness, St. Patrick’s Day, and National Reading Month. Did you know it’s also National Craft Month?
With St. Patrick’s Day coming up, this is the perfect time for an easy activity about luck. This “I Am Lucky” craft is not just about coloring and cutting. It’s about gratitude. It’s about helping kids recognize the little things that make life sweet.
2: Tips and Resources
Daylight Savings Time
- Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at 2:00 A.M. On Saturday night, clocks are set forward 1 hour (i.e., losing 1 hour) to “spring forward.” Sunrise and sunset will be about 1 hour later on March 9, 2025, than the day before. There will be more light in the evening.
School Safety
In response to emergencies, crisis, and natural disasters, Milford School District has begun utilizing the Standard Response Protocol (SRP). SRP is a uniform, planned, and practiced response to any incident and is the foundation of a safe school environment. In the event of a live incident, families may have questions about their role. Click the image on the right for more FAQ's.
Should families come to the school during a secure event? Probably not. Every effort is made to conduct classes as normal during a secure event. Additionally, families may be asked to stay outside during a secure event.
Should families text their students during a lockdown? The school recognizes the importance of communication between families and students during a Lockdown event. Families should be aware though, during the initial period of a Lockdown, it may not be safe for students to text their families.
