Hays High School Celebrates HHS Color Guard 2021
Hays Color Guard earned second place at this past weekend’s Texas Color Guard Circuit contest at Georgetown High School!
The 2021 Production “Paint it Black” is a dark, haunting cover of the Rolling Stones classic of the same name. Massive ramps lead to a mysterious oversized door, looming over the cast as they perform in dramatic red costumes on a stark black stage. Movement, color, and motion of flags, dance, and weapons convey the mystery of the door, as the characters explore the space in and around it.
The Hays Color Guard also placed 2nd at the TCGC contest at Davenport HS on March 13, and will be competing in the Texas Color Guard Circuit Season Finale Contest April 10th at Johnson High School. The middle school program, Hays Cadets, also competes in the Texas Color Guard Circuit and has placed first at the last two competitions. Congratulations to all of our performers in 6th – 12th grades!

Principal's Message
Dear Hays High School Parents,
Spring is a time for renewal and rebirth and we are excited to enter the season with our amazing students at Hays High School. This week, we enter the final grading period of the year and enter “testing season” where our students will complete End-of-course exams, SAT tests and Advanced Placement tests.
These are more than just one day and one test; good results create more opportunities for our students for their futures. Great A.P. scores equal college credit. Excellent SAT scores open scholarship and college admission opportunities for your student. Meeting (or exceeding) grade level on End-of-course exams tells you their progress in mastering the curriculum and are required to graduate in Texas. We encourage you to have those conversations with your students at home and ask questions to get them thinking about these examinations and their futures.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns about Hays High School, you can reach out to me or any member of my staff, we are here to lead our kids to great futures in partnership with you and our community.
