PRIDE Under Construction - Week #11 🚧
Greetings, STEAM Family!
Another productive week is in the books at SDE as we remain steadfast on our journey towards high achievement and success for all students. Even though this was a short week, it was full of excitement up until its end. We'll begin by giving a huge SHOUT OUT to our Student Council representatives for doing a TREMENDOUS job presenting to the Dublin City Schools Board of Education during the regularly scheduled board meeting upon their return from the Fall Break. Our students shared information about what they have been learning in their classes, how they are being assessed, and, finally their proposal of the updates and enhancements our students would like to have on our playground! This group thoroughly demonstrated our belief that a safe, secure, flexible, and loving environment promotes positive learning communities for academic achievement, personal growth, and emotional well-being.
We would also like to extend another SHOUT OUT to all of our parents/guardians who have already attended your scholar's parent-teacher conference to discuss academic and behavioral goals at this point, as well as those who have made plans to attend. We have had a remarkable turnout thus far; however, we still have not yet reached our goal of 100% parent/guardian participation! Just a reminder, if you are unable to attend the conference due to transportation barriers, NO WORRIES! Please contact the school and make arrangements with our Family Engagement Coordinator, Mrs. Eriana Jackson, to be picked up or to have the conference "delivered to you". The faculty and staff of SDE is bound and determined to reach our goal of 100% participation - whatever it takes!
Finally, please note there will be no PRIDE Afterschool Program on this Wednesday, October 19th. Participants will need to make arrangements for their regular afterschool transportation on this date. As always, please continue to stay tuned for the many great happenings in the "Instruction Zone" at SDE.
WHO ARE WE?.... (By now, you should certainly know; however, if not, be sure to ask someone!)

This Week at SDE:
ATTENDANCE MATTERS - Parents, please make sure your child maintains regular attendance and arrives to school in a timely manner. Students are tardy at 8:15 am. Five (5) tardies and/or early dismissals count as one (1) unexcused absence. Student attendance will be a part of criteria used to determine eligibility for school-wide celebrations. Remember, every minute really counts!
- Weekly grade level newsletters will be sent home each Monday, so please check your child's folder and/or book bag.
- The dress code will be enforced DAILY at SDE! Any "Dress Down" days will be communicated in advance. Repeated dress code violations will result in students becoming ineligible to participate in school-wide and/or classroom PRIDE celebrations and events! Please make sure your child adheres to the required dress code. Remember, the P in PRIDE stands for "Personal Responsibility".
- The PRIDE Afterschool Remediation/Enrichment Program takes place on Mondays - Wednesdays from 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm. Snacks and transportation will be provided. For more information regarding the after school program waiting list, please contact the school at (478) 353-8250.
