Attendance Incentive for MCAP Testing (ALL GRADE LEVELS)
Dear CMIT Parents/Guardians,
MCAP Math and ELA tests will be administered April 8 through April 19 for ALL GRADE LEVELS. Since both tests are adaptive, all students MUST be present for the first day of testing in order to test the second day. It is important for scholars to get a good nights rest, eat a breakfast, and arrive to school on time. Scholars that arrive late or are absent on their testing days will be provided with a make-up day for testing. To reduce the amount of make-up tests this year, we are going to have an Attendance Incentive for students. More details will be forthcoming.

Morning Drop Off
We are seeking your assistance and attention to the matter of morning drop offs.
As you may know, our school doors open at 8:15 a.m. for us to welcome the arrival of our wonderful scholars.
However, we have been seeing an influx of students being dropped off as early as 7:30 am and begin to walk around the school buildings with their friends, engage in playful behavior, and run around chasing their fellow schoolmates.
While safety and supervision is crucial during this time, it does become a hard task to monitor a crowd full of scholars and direct traffic.
We are reaching out to ask for your assistance to please drop off your scholars between 8:15 and 8:30 so that we can limit the amount of time a scholar is waiting for entry to the school.
Thank you for your understanding and partnership.
Attendance
Examples of Lawful Absences include: death in the immediate family, illness, suspension, observance of religious holidays, court summons, etc.
Please be sure to provide a note to the school when your child is absent. Electronic notes are also accepted using this link https://shorturl.at/kmoL4
Families are encouraged to refer to Administrative Procedure 5113 for more information.
Grading Policy Reminder
According to Administrative Procedure 5121, classes that meet 3-5 times per week require a minimum of 2 grades per week entered into SchoolMax and classes that meet 1-2 times per week require a minimum of 1 grade per week entered into SchoolMax. Additionally, please be mindful that AP5121 also states "Teachers must return graded papers and assignments within ten days of submission in order to provide on-going, timely feedback to students and parents."

Student VS Staff Basketball Highlights
On Friday, March 15th, we had the Student VS Staff Basketball game at CMIT North High School. It was a game filled with excitement, suspension, enthusiasm, and camaraderie. It was an overall great performance by both our talented students and staff members. Of course, the CMIT staff members took home the trophy but the game was really close. If you missed it, then you missed out.
See the highlights below.
