Dear Parent/Guardian of all students entering into 12th grade:
In accordance with Missouri law, the district will not allow a student to attend school until the district has satisfactory evidence on file demonstrating that the student has been immunized, that the immunization process has begun and satisfactory progress is being accomplished, or that the student is exempted from obtaining immunizations in accordance with the law. Board Policy JHCB: Immunization of Students
Please note that students entering 12th grade for the 2024-2025 school year will need to have the following additional vaccination on file with their school nurse:

NOTE: The final dose of MCV must be received after age 16y.
To ensure a smooth transition to the next school year, Clay County Health Department will be providing 2 vaccination clinics at our schools this summer:

(registration deadline is Sunday, June 9, 2024)
· July 11, 2024, at Winnetonka High School
(registration deadline is Sunday, June 30, 2024)
· You must register your student for a clinic ahead of time, and
· You must accompany your student to the clinic.
The link to register your student is here: Online Registration Consent Form
If your student has already received their required vaccine, please provide that record to the school nurse as soon as possible. We must have the updated record on file by August 20, 2024.

Summer School!
Hello, Griffin Family!
It’s time to set our sights on summer!
This message contains information on the 2024 high school summer school options available for our current and incoming Freshmen, Sophomore and Junior students.
In June, we are offering first time credit for Health, Personal Finance and PE. These three courses will be virtual offerings through Canvas. If your student has a special circumstance and needs a different course for first time credit, it will need to be approved by his or her counselor.
We are also offering credit recovery for students who have failed classes. These credit recovery classes are taken for pass/fail through our online program, Launch. These classes are IN-PERSON at Winnetonka and take place in the month of June.
To assist with sign up for Summer School, please follow this link to our SUMMER LEARNING information which details enrollment, times, locations, and questions you may have for all ages. Please go through these steps to enroll your student if they are taking part in any form of summer school. Please note, that you will NOT need to select transportation for the virtual course offerings (Health, Personal Finance and PE) in the Power School Parent Portal.
If you have any additional questions regarding Summer School, please reach out to your student’s counselor or Assistant to the Principal, Shannon Elijah.

***Picking your student up early policy***
Starting for the 2023-2024 school year, our early pick up procedures will change. Parents/Guardians must pre-arrange any change to their scholar's daily dismissal prior to 2:00pm. If you have not called your scholar's attendance line or the main office prior to 2:00pm, your student will not be dismissed until the final bell at 2:40pm. At the end of the day, we have numerous things going on and it is unfeasible to accommodate requests after 2:00pm.
