Last Week Was All About Testing - Going Forward, we Need Your Help
As you are aware, we began MCAP state testing last week. While things went smoothly for the most part, there were a few too many instances where students got into trouble because they could not understand just how easy it is to compromise a test.
Please remind students for the next round of testing that absolutely no personal electronic devices will be permitted to be on during testing. Access to any platforms (music or otherwise) is strictly prohibited. Failure to comply with the testing protocols could result in disciplinary consequences.
Other reminders to students:
- Please plan to get a good night's rest prior to testing
- Bring your laptop and charger to school daily. No other electronics will be allowed in the testing room.
- Know that you will be asked to remove anything covering your ears and you will be told to put all electronics away and across the room from where you are testing.
- We begin testing promptly at 7:30am. If you arrive late to school on any of the testing days you will need to make that time up on a later date thus missing other classes.
Remaining State Testing dates are as follows:
- Math - Wednesday, May 1-Thursday May 2
- 8th Grade only Social Studies - Wednesday, May 15- Thursday May 16
The state of Maryland has a high school graduation requirement for students to learn how to practice citizenship. As part of their student service learning, all 6th graders are teaming up to sponsor a Spring Food Drive for local food pantries.
Starting on Monday, April 22 through Friday, April 26, the 6th graders are sponsoring a Spring Food Drive. The food drive is to help restock local food pantries. We are asking for you to bring in canned and non-perishable foods or boxed foods. In particular, the pantry is in need of the following items:
- Canned Soups and Canned pasta
- Canned Meats
- Instant mashed potatoes
- Taco Shells
- Bottled water
- Toiletries: especially soap
- Ramen Noodles
- Toilet Paper
- Oatmeal Packs

MTSS stands for Multi-Tiered Systems of Support. This is the system we use at LMS to promote learning and positive behavior support for all students. Click HERE to see our PAWS Matrix
PAWS stands for Positive, Accountable, Work Hard and Service. Our PAWS pledge is read during every morning announcement:
- I will have a POSITIVE attitude and treat others the way I want to be treated.
- I will be ACCOUNTABLE for my actions and reactions.
- I will WORK HARD, be open-minded, and ask questions when I don’t know.
- I will show SERVICE by doing my part to keep my school safe, help others, and contribute to my community.
This month, students are focusing on "Bathroom Expectations". Let's work together to promote efficient and responsible bathroom use at school.
