Hello District Families!
Dear District Families - Here at the D70 Foundation for Excellence, we have had a busy February and start to March! Since our last update, we held our first annual Dad's Bourbon & Golf Event at E9 Club, we brought on new Foundation Founding Members, and we successfully raised the most money ever for Foundation Teacher/Staff Mini Grants!
We have also been busy planning upcoming Foundation events for the rest of the year.

$70 for D70
In my last update, I talked about the significance of each family donating $70 per year which would give the Foundation approximately $100k a year to go back into our schools! You can see from our Foundation Mini Grant process this year that your DOLLARS DO MAKE A DIFFERENCE! Our big push to the end of the year will be to collect donations and write a check to District 70 to assist with the Electronic Door Access that will go on ALL internal doors in the district. This is for the safety of our children, teachers and staff.
Ladies' Luncheon - April 25th

Dad's Bourbon and Golf Event
On February 24th, we held our first annual Dad's Bourbon & Golf Event. Whiskey expert, Tim Swiat, shared his knowledge with attendees while they enjoyed sipping on a variety of whiskies. Afterward there was a lot of golf and camaraderie with the last guest leaving well after midnight! This is a tradition we hope to continue each year. The night raised $4k for the Foundation fund. We were fortunate enough to have the space donated by E9 Club owners Kyle Hanson and Marty Cappelle.
D70 Foundation donors were able to golf to their hearts' content during a recent indoor fundraiser. Thanks for E9 Club for donating the space!
Foundation President Allegra Heinz, left, and Executive Director Holland Burton did a fantastic job setting up and supervising the group's first Dad's Event!
Foundation dads were able to sample a variety of bourbons during the highly successful fundraiser.
Save The Date
We are starting a new tradition for the Foundation this year! On the last day of school, we will hold a district wide event at Highland Middle School! Much like we did last year at our launch event in May, we will have food trucks, bounce houses, ponies and a DJ! SAVE THE DATE!!! It will be a fun event for all!!!
