Handley Herald
June 2024 Edition

Summer Time!
The tests are finished, the homework is turned in, and we are ready for summer! We hope that our students are able to enjoy some fresh air and create memorable experiences while they are away. We will see all of you back in August for the 2024-2025 school year.
Fun and Games
Family Fun Night was a blast! Delicious treats and games made it an event to remember.
Face Paint
Some talented artists helped our students bring out their spirit animals.
Bounce, Bounce, Bounce
Students and teachers loved the bounce houses.
The Saddest Goodbye
Mrs. Ford has been with Handley for 16 years! She is the first person people see when they walk in and the last one on their way out. Throughout the years, she has positively affected the lives of so many students and teachers throughout our building. To say that we are going to miss her is the biggest understatement in all of history!
Enjoy your retirement Mrs. Ford!
The Good Ol' Days
Our fourth graders got to experience life "back then" at Pioneerland.

Attendance Matters
Handley's Teacher of the Year
Mrs. Overton is Handley's Teacher of the Year and is eligible for the corporation teacher of the year (announced June 6th). She teaches 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade students in the ELBS program. She is described by her pupils as being "fun", "caring", and "helpful". She has been with Handley for 6 years and has helped countless students along the way. Thank you Mrs. Overton for all you do!
Save the Date!
June 3 - Field Day
June 5 - Last Student Day
August 8 - Rock the Block

Read-a-thon
Our Read-a-thon was a hit and brought us a host of surprises. Here, we can see our "Masked Readers" before they were revealed. Can you guess which reader is which?
Zoo Trip
Our second grade students enjoyed their time at the Potawatomi Zoo in South Bend. The carousel was especially popular!
May The 4th Be With You
Mrs. Ebersole's 3rd grade class enjoyed their STEM activity during "Star Wars Day".
Thank You Teachers!
At Handley, we believe we have the best of everything! Our school is new and tidy, our teams consistently win trophies, and our students are brilliant! Above all else, what makes us as great as we are is our teachers. They are the lifeblood of our school and the reason why Handley is such a wonderful place to learn.
During Teacher Appreciation Week, we celebrated our teachers throughout the whole week. It was a small thank you for everything they do throughout the year. Thank you teachers!
