The students make or receive a bracelet with 7 beads in this order: tan, sky blue, carrot, purple, forest green, midnight, emerald. Each bead color stands for part of the story they need to retell.

Retelling of The Three Little Pigs using the Retelling Frame
The story, (tan - title), The Three Little Pigs, took place (sky blue - setting) country. The main character(s), (carrot - character(s)) the three pigs, had a problem. The problem was that (purple - problem) the wolf wanted to blow their house down and eat them. First in the story (forest green - first events) the wolf went to the straw house and blew the house down. The little pig ran to his brother’s stick house. . In the middle of the story (midnight - middle events) the wolf blew the stick house down. The two little pigs ran to their brother’s brick house. At the end of the story, (emerald - ending events) the wolf tried to blow the brick house down. He huffed and he puffed, but he couldn’t blow the brick house down. He climbed down the chimney, but he fell into a big pot of boiling soup. He was never heard from again.
