Monthly Family Programming
Pups and Pumpkins
Saturday, October 27 from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
Pumpkin crafts for the kids and off- trail walking for you and your four-legged friend.
All dogs must be on a leash.
Turkey Trot
Saturday, November 17 from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
Stop by the classroom and sign out a pair of binoculars. Then go on a walk to see if you can find any of our famous turkeys.
Volunteers will be located in the house on the observation porch to help you locate other birds that live at Spruce Run. Volunteers will also discuss the citizen science project we will be involved in: Project Feederwatch.
The "TURKEY TROT", a one mile family fun run / walk, will begin at noon.
Holiday Nature Crafts
If you are looking for homemade gift ideas that your children can give to their grandparents, aunts, uncles or teachers for the holidays, then this nature craft day is a great family opportunity.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Become a volunteer. All you need is an enthusiasm for nature and the great outdoors, a willingness to learn and a desire to share with others! Volunteer hours are flexible and will depend on your chosen job area(s). No previous training is needed: training programs will be provided.
Currently we need volunteers in the following areas:
Office: answer telephone, filing, organizing supplies for school group activities
Horticulture: working in the greenhouse, raised bed, landscaping maintenance
Naturalist: sharing your personal "Nature Hobby" such as birding or rock collecting with student groups
Maintenance: general upkeep of the buildings and grounds
Scout Specialist: working with troops, or individual scouts on badges, scouting projects and volunteering opportunities at Spruce Run
