A Message from Principal Woofter
Happy April!
I hope our Archer Glen family had a wonderful spring break! We could tell from the amount of students that arrived at school early on Tuesday that everyone was ready to come back!
Our teachers came back on Monday where they had a productive Professional Development Day! It is not often that all elementary teachers get to come together for training, but we started our day at Hawks View learning about the new SEL (social emotional learning) standards that have been developed from the state. It was exciting to see that Sherwood has been implementing these concepts for the past several years which will make the transition that much smoother. Teachers then had time to collaborate with other grade level teachers to plan Reading instruction for the remainder of the year. During our afternoon sessions, we reviewed the draft of the District Strategic Plan, completed our annual employee survey, and continued to work on implementation of the learning from the morning sessions.
On another note, there will be a delay in our Archer Glen playground refurbishment project. When the original designs were submitted, the needs of our students was different. We need time to revisit the plan to ensure that our new pieces are accessible to all of our students. Fortunately, we will be able to continue to use the current structures while the project and timeline are adjusted.
There are many exciting activities coming up in April including our first International Cultural Night coming up on Tuesday, August 8 from 5:30 - 6:30. The event will highlight the various cultural backgrounds that make up our Archer Glen family - all are welcome to attend!
I hope to see you there!
Kindly,
Sarah
New! Parent/Caregiver Experience Survey
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
As part of our commitment to providing continuous service excellence to our families and our community, we are conducting a survey in partnership with Studer Education. Your feedback will help us determine what is working well in your child’s school and any areas that may need improvement.
The survey takes about 10-15 minutes to complete. We encourage you to complete it in one sitting, as your responses will be saved once you click submit. The survey will ask you to select your child’s school, and you can complete a separate survey for each of the schools your children attend.
The Parent/Caregiver Experience Survey can be accessed here:
Sherwood School District – Parent/Caregiver Experience Survey or
the QR Code above
The survey is scheduled for Tuesday, April 1 through Monday, April 21st.
To maintain confidentiality of the Parent/Caregiver Experience Survey, our partners at Studer Education will be administering the survey, managing the data collection, and aggregating the data to provide results reports to leaders.
Thank you for your commitment to our success!
