LETTER FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Santa Rita Families,
A huge thank you to our amazing music teachers and to the 4th-6th grade students for their incredible performances. These concerts were a perfect way to begin the holiday season, and we are so grateful to LAEF for their ongoing support in making these events possible.
I’d like to thank our music instructors, all the families that were able to attend and provide daily support, and LAEF for making these moments possible. The Los Altos Education Foundation fully funds this program at each school and is yet another example of how every dollar donated directly supports your child and their rich experience here in LASD. Please see below for more information on how to maximize every dollar you might be able to contribute.
LAEF- Take advantage of our $50,000 Challenge Match from 8 LASD families! This month, every dollar you Donate to LAEF to support our schools will GET DOUBLED, up to $50,000 through Dec 31, 2024. If your company has a matching gift program, you can even TRIPLE YOUR IMPACT by donating this month. Your student benefits from LAEF-funded teachers and programs every day! Contributions to LAEF are funding teachers for TK-6th grade PE, 4th-6th music, computer science, school librarians, the Art Docents program, the Living Classroom program, junior high electives, mental health counseling, and the Parent Education Speaker Series. You are making this possible! Learn more about how donations to LAEF are being spent.
Santa Rita STEM Expo
Santa Rita STEM Expo invites students in grades TK-6 to participate! While engaging in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) projects, students will have an opportunity to design hands-on projects while exploring just how fun STEM can be! This event lends itself to a myriad of learning experiences: within the class or at home, working individually or collaboratively with peers or with adults, and amongst a wide range of STEM categories including: Rube Goldberg, Invention, Engineering (Reverse), Engineering (Robotics), Scientific Inquiry, and Wearable Designs. Ultimately, students will get a chance to showcase their STEM work in a fun and unique venue, with learning opportunities for the entire family. Santa Rita will be hosting the STEM Expo evening showcase on 02/26/25 from 5:30pm - 6:30pm.
Lunar New Year
Santa Rita School will be celebrating Lunar New Year on Thursday, January 9th at 9:00am. We will be having a schoolwide assembly that day. All parents and family members are welcome to attend.
Thank you Santa Rita PTA
