The Voyager Voice
"It's a Great Day to be a Voyager!"
August 30, 2024 π Message from Principal Kroekel
Dear Voyager Families,
Greetings Voyagers! So here we are on the verge of a most exciting, productive, and fulfilling new school year. I look forward to meeting you and your family as we embark on a new year together. The teachers are excited to get started! Welcome back, one and all!!
I thought you would enjoy a few simple ideas that might help you and your family gear up for a great school year (they were taken from "Parents Make a Difference!" magazine):
- Make a plan for after school activities.
- Schedule adequate time for homework, play, clubs, sports, and practice.
- Scale back TV/screen time.
- Establish bedtimes for school nights and routines for school mornings.
- Collect important phone numbers. Update doctor, work, and other listings for the school office and afterschool programs.
- Have a backup plan. Create a carpool, if possible.
- Spruce up a quiet study space for your child(ren). Include pens, pencils, dictionary, and other needed supplies.
- Get children in the habit of getting ready the night before school. Set out clothes, pack lunch, and put the backpack by the front door.
Most importantly, be flexible. The start of the school year can be stressful so be prepared for hiccups and glitches. We will get through it together! Let us start this new school year with Christ at the center of our journey.
Our teachers look forward to working with you and your child(ren). Parents and guardians play a vital role in fulfilling our mission at Saint Francis Xavier Middle School. We can't do it without you!
Please enjoy a wonderful Labor Day weekend with friends and family!
God bless,
Mr. C. Kroekel
Principal

Faith First π
Each school year offers a fresh beginning, a time to set new goals and strengthen our commitment to living as disciples of Christ. We are called to reflect on how we can grow in our relationship with God and how our faith can guide our actions, decisions, and interactions with others.
Daily Prayer and Reflection:
To help our students stay grounded in their faith, we begin and end each school day, meeting, and event with a prayer and brief reflection. This daily practice encourages students to start their day with a focus on God's presence and His call to love and serve others.
Experience the Peace of Adoration:
We are blessed to share a wonderful opportunity with our school community. Holy Ghost Parish in Whitman, is offering times for Eucharistic Adoration. This is a beautiful chance for our students, families, and staff to deepen their relationship with Christ through prayer and reflection. For more details and to see available times, please click here.
Monthly Mass:
We are blessed to have the opportunity to celebrate Mass as a school community each month. The first Friday of every month we have a schoolwide Mass at 9:00 a.m. We encourage families to attend this Mass with us and then join Mr. Kroekel and administrators in McShea Hall for "Coffee with Mr. Kroekel".
