Shady Shores Elementary School

October is National Fire Safety Month. Our local Lake Cities Fire Department will be presenting their annual fire safety presentations to students on October 17th. The community is invited to the Lake Cities Fire Department Open House on Saturday, October 26, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Fire House No. 3 on Cliff Oaks Drive (across from Corinth Elementary). Our second grade and fifth grade fire safety contest winners will be announced at this community event.

We will have two practice drills later this month as we practice all of our safety protocols throughout the year. Our two drills that we will be practicing are: a secure drill (which is where everyone comes indoors for any reason including if CareFlight uses our playground as a designated meeting place) and an evacuation drill (which is our fire drill). You will receive communication the day of. For our drills, we always inform all of our students and staff prior to the drill occuring.

We would love to have our parents and grandparents on campus helping and seeing the great things happening at SSE. If you are interested in serving as a WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) or a WATCH DOGS M.O.M.S (Moms of Great Students), please complete this Google Form and we will reach out to you about how and when is best for you to be on campus and helping!

Some users prefer to receive certain notifications one way, and others a different way.

The official Attendance Time for students to be counted as present for the day is 9:30am. Students must be on campus by or before 9:30. The exception is if student's walk in with a doctor's note from the morning. Thank you for your continued support of making sure our students are at school and on time!

We LOVE having dads, grandpas, uncles, etc... at SSE during our day! To be a WATCH D.O.G.S., you can volunteer many times or even just 1 day. We appreciate extra help in our car line in the mornings and at lunch. Or volunteer on your child's birthday and make their day extra special!
