We will be striving to recognize the positive in our day, work to lift each other help, support and encourage everyone in and out of the school.

Ms. Andrews and the Leadership Class will be leading the morning announcements all week and will be introducing the different daily challenges.

Next week, we are looking forward to celebrating Kindness Week at JWMS! Students will engage in daily kindness challenges, participate in fun relationship-building activities, and have the chance to join in on our spirit week festivities. We kicked off the conversation this week during our CharacterStrong lesson focused on anti-bullying, emphasizing the importance of kindness in our community.

Pneumonia, Impetigo, and Strep infections have been reported in our schools. We truly appreciate those that have reached out to let us know what their child has been ill with. When you do, we can take additional measures to stop the spread, as well as provide better support for your child’s return from illness related absence. One of the many benefits of being part of a small rural community is the concern we have for our neighbor, classmate, and teammate.

Covering your cough and washing your hands are two simple but important things our kids can do. We are cleaning and disinfecting more frequently. If you completed the form at enrollment for your child to have tylenol and/or ibuprofen, this cannot be given for illness. Keep your child home if they are ill. A doctor’s note may be requested for your child’s return, if your child returns with symptoms.

Girls Basketball-

First game is Monday October 28th at HOME.

This is a 3 game night which means ALL games are in the MIDDLE SCHOOL- Games start at 4:30pm and game play will be as follows- 8A, 7A, Combo 7th and 8th B Team

Practices from here on out will end at 5:30pm.

Wrestling-

First meet is Saturday November 2nd at Santa Fe Trail High School- Matches start at 9am.

Bus will leave the Middle School at 6:45am

Cost for Breakfast is $2.25- we start serving breakfast at 7:30 am

Lunch cost is $3.50- Salads and sandwiches are offered every day but Late Start Days

Extra Milk is $0.50

Booster Club Game and Dance Night

We are still in need of volunteers to help this event be a success. Please sign up if you are able to help out! Reminder this is for Jefferson West Middle School students only, students are not allowed to bring outside guests and students must be in good standing. Costumes can not include weapons, blood, guts or anything gory and must follow the school dress code.
