D93 Family Update

Teamwork is a Form of Trust
From legendary Tennessee basketball coach Pat Summit, "Teamwork is really a form of trust. It’s what happens when you surrender the mistaken idea that you can go it alone and realize that you won’t achieve your individual goals without the support of your colleagues."
The model below can help us to to think about ways that we can take collective and individual responsibility to build trust with our teams, whether those teams include our family members, our classmates, or our after school activities. One thing that I love about this model is how integral integrity--the first cornerstone of our culture--is in each step in building trust.
Next Week's Schedule
November 5th Election Day
In addition to the Presidential Election, on November 5th our residents will also be asked whether to approve our $5.8 million annual supplemental levy for the next two years*.
As you can see in the image below, this funding supplements pay for almost every D93 employee. It also helps to pay the contract for our School Resource Officers and provides instructional resources for our classrooms. Finally, the cost of our extracurricular activities including coaching stipends and transportation come from the supplemental levy.
By state law, to keep this funding, the levy must be approved by our voters at least every two years.
Please help to share the word about the importance of voting on this ballot question.
*Mandatory Disclosure Language
The estimated average annual cost to the taxpayer on the proposed levy is a tax of $77.13 per $100,000 of taxable assessed value, per year, based on current conditions. The proposed levy replaces an existing levy that expires on June 30, 2025 and that currently costs $77.13 per $100,000 of taxable assessed value. If the proposed levy is approved, the tax per $100,000 of taxable assessed value is not expected to change.

Thunder Ridge Senior Roman Stonhill Recognized as National Merit Commended Student
We are proud to announce that Thunder Ridge High School senior, Roman Stonhill, has been named a Commended Student in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program. Roman will receive a Letter of Commendation from Principal Trent Dabel and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC®) in recognition of his outstanding scholastic achievements.
Approximately 34,000 students across the country are being recognized as Commended Students for their exceptional academic promise. The NMSC spokesperson shared, “Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success. These students represent a valuable national resource, and recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation.”
Thunder Ridge High School and Bonneville Joint School District 93 are incredibly proud of Roman's accomplishments and are confident in his bright future. We wish him continued success as he pursues his academic goals!
