RENO REPORT
Dear AVS Parents,
This year has been a journey of growth, learning, and resilience. As we move into our final week, I want to recognize three long time employees of the Alexander Valley School District. Mrs. Jane Guilfoy, Mrs. Anne Loarie, and Mrs. Michele Gluch have all made a profound impact on our students, staff, and community throughout their years of service at AVS.
Mrs. Jane Guilfoy has 21 years of service to AVS where she helped support teaching and learning in and out of the classrooms. Jane also served as our After Care lead and taught Chess Club! Jane will always be remembered for her passion for the environment and teaching all of us to reuse, recycle, and repurpose!
Mrs. Anne Loarie has nurtured and educated our students in the AVS Garden Enrichment Program the past 10 years. Anneโs passion for teaching sustainability, stewardship, and science all intertwined within the outdoor garden, learning lab setting has been an incredible opportunity for our students at AVS. Anneโs community resource connections, incredible annual plant sale, creative garden cookbook, and master plan facility garden project will all be things that will live forever with AVS!
Mrs. Michele Gluch has been with AVS for 14 years serving as an instructional aide across most grade levels supporting early literacy and intervention for our students. This past year Mrs. Gluch took a leave of absence and will not be returning next year. We are so thankful for the positive impact she had on so many of our students and staff. We will miss her kindheartedness, and her dedication to all of the students throughout the years at AVS.
As we wind down the year, I am deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed to our school's success:
- Teachers and Staff: Your dedication and passion for education have been the cornerstone of our students' achievements. Thank you for going above and beyond every day.
- Parents and Guardians: Your support and involvement in your children's education are invaluable. Thank you for partnering with us to ensure their success.
- Students: Your enthusiasm, hard work, and positive attitude have made this year memorable. You are the heart of our school, and I am incredibly proud of each of you.
AVS CLASS OF 2024
Speaking of students, special congratulations to our graduating 6th graders for their hard work and dedication, you will all be missed next year.
As we approach the summer break, please keep the following in mind:
- Summer Reading: Students are encouraged to keep their minds active with our summer reading.
- Health and Safety: Stay safe and healthy during the break. Enjoy the time with family and friends, and come back refreshed and ready for another fantastic year.
Thank you for a wonderful year. I look forward to seeing everyone back in the fall, ready to embrace new opportunities and continue our tradition of excellence.
Have a fantastic summer!
Mr. Reno
