December is here, and with it the Christmas season to celebrate the birth of JESUS!

And you know what? I'm upset....

It burns me up when people celebrate anything or anyone other than JESUS at Christmas.

There is a Christmas movie coming out this season called "Dear Santa." Here's what it is about:

"When a young boy mails his Christmas wish list to Santa with one crucial spelling error, a devilish Jack Black arrives to wreak havoc on the holidays."

Check out the movie poster below. So a kid misspells "Santa" as "Satan," and Satan shows up instead of Santa. And this is somehow funny....

Here's my problem: Satan is real. And he is not funny.

All Satan wants to do is mess us up, tempt us into sin, and pull us away from Jesus. This season should be all about drawing us closer to Jesus. There is nothing okay about glorifying Satan. NOTHING.

There's another movie coming out this season, too, that tells a story familiar to us...The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. I'm praying that this movie completely outshines the other, and that Jesus will get the VICTORY in folks' lives as a result!

Guys...I challenge you this month of December: In everything you do and in every way when you celebrate Christmas this month, make sure you celebrate JESUS. It is His birth we celebrate at Christmas. And He deserves all the glory and praise during this time of year!

We are making a transition with our BRANCHEZ Ministry at Lynn Garden Baptist in 2025! We will begin referring to BRANCHEZ as a "Young Adult Ministry" rather than a "College Age Ministry" to be more inclusive of folks who have graduated from high school up through their twenties!

Praying for God to grow this ministry in 2025!

Cost: $50

You must have a 2025 policy and medical form on file to go!

Andy will distribute these at the beginning of January!

Trip Details:

• We will leave on Friday, January 17th after school and head down to the cabin (same one as last year).
• We will have a fellowship outing in Pigeon Forge on Saturday before the first session of STS on Saturday evening.
• STS Worship & Message Sessions are on Saturday evening, Sunday morning, Sunday evening, and Monday morning.
• Doug will be our chef for meals at the cabin again! Be sure to thank him!
• We will stop for lunch at Cracker Barrel on Monday as we had back home.

We are only ordering 12 tickets, so let Andy know to sign up and reserve your ticket!

Plan:

• Leave church at 12:00 and head down to Knoxville.
• Lunch at Mexican restaurant.
• Doors open at 4:00.
• We will stop at Buc-ee's on the way home for a snack!
• Bring money for snacks and/or merch.
