Dear Parents/Carers,
Another busy week as we prepare ourselves for the December festivities. Next week, a travelling panto will visit the school and we will be treated to a performance of Dick Whittington. Oh yes we will!
Next Friday is the Christmas Fair after school. I am looking forward to having the chance to chat to families so please do come and say “Hello.” We need donations for the cake stall so please see the details below if you are able to help. I will also be joining the community on Sunday for the Church Fenton light switch on. Please keep an eye out for me as I won’t know anyone!
I have noticed this week an increased number of children arriving late into school. Since the guidelines changed in September, children that arrive after the register have this time classed as absence that could go towards a penalty notice. More importantly than that, children get anxious when they don’t arrive at the same time as their peers. We are also trying to ingrain good habits for later life. Let’s make an effort to improve this as we head towards the holidays and into the New Year.
Bobbie the school dog has enjoyed her first full day at school. The children were great with her in worship and I have really enjoyed watching her bring some shy children out of their shell. I have completed all of the necessary risk assessments and the statement of intent for a school dog and I will share this with you next week.
I hope you have a great weekend,
Mel Walmsley
Headteacher
Attendance
This week's attendance is 96.06%
School Dinners
There are an increasing number of children who have not had lunches pre ordered for them which causes delays in service and upsets children who are not getting what they would prefer. Please ensure all meals are booked before 8am in the morning. If you are having difficulties, please let the office know so that we can help rectify this.
Thank you
Lost Property
The lost property pile is a mountain yet again. To help conquer this, please ensure all items are clearly named with your child's name (removing any old names in them) to help them be reunited with the correct child. Anything remaining will be sent to the charity shop in the last week of term.

Message from Head Pupils
This week, reception and year 1 have been practising for their nativity in December. They’re looking forward to performing it soon. Today, the children have worn their own clothes to raise donations for the chocolate tombola. Next week, on the 6th of December is the Christmas fair. Have a good weekend.
Head pupil awards go to Bobbie (Y3) and Skye (Y2).
Bella and Ollie
A huge well done to every single class this week, every class has increased their participation in either Numbots or TTR and lots of children have worked incredibly hard this week. The class that is top of our league this week is Newton class. Congratulations Newton! A special mention goes to our highest class from EY/KS1 which was Goodall class who came in at third. Well done!
This week it could be any class that are top so make sure you are helping your class out. Every minute you do gets added to your class total. I can't wait to see who wins next week.
Our lucky raffle ticket winners are Peggy G and Zack S. Well done!
