The Patton Post
Friday, December 22nd

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Friday, December 22nd
We have had such a fun final week before Winter Break! It has been so fun to see everyone getting into the spirit and following the fun themes for each day that Student Council planned for us!
Today was a very special day! This morning, each grade got to enjoy winter stories in the commons, read by myself and Mrs Vignocchi, our K and 1st Grade classes had a MATH-ulous time engaging in fun math activities in the afternoon and then joined the rest of the school for an epic D.E.A.R (Drop Everything And Read) session! It was wonderful to see students enjoying reading all over the school and was a truly fun way to end the week!
I hope everyone has a wonderful 2 week break! Please remember that school resumes on TUESDAY, January 9th! I can't wait to see everyone then!
I'd like to take this opportunity on behalf of all Patton staff to thank everyone for the ongoing partnership. Patton is such a wonderful community and we consider ourselves fortunate to be a part of it! We wish everyone a restful, fun, memorable and magical winter break. HAPPY HOLIDAYS and HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

ABC/25 FOUNDATION (UPDATED POST!)
PLEASE HELP US REACH OUR GOAL!!
We only need 7 more families to sign up!!!
If we reach our goal ABC/25 will award us a school grant of $2,500!!!
With over 30 years of impact, the foundation has raised nearly two million dollars, funding projects and grants that empower District 25 students and teachers. A couple of our own teachers just received grants from the ABC/25 Foundation! Mr. Whitaker was able to purchase a whole consensus of ukuleles and a beautiful stand to house them. (Trivia fans: keep the collective noun for Ukuleles being "a consensus" as a potential future winning trivia answer! You're welcome!) and Mrs. Hiller was given a grant to purchase floor seating for her classroom to make circle time a bit more comfy for her students! Our LMC will be adding a significant number of books to its collection as well. These grants are so helpful, useful and appreciated!
Last year, because we met our goal, we were able to use the school grant money we received to purchase a poster maker for the school! This has allowed teachers more flexibility and creativity in designing and using posters to enhance instruction for our Panthers.
If you have older children at Thomas and join up, you will also be helping them meet their goal! Please don't feel that you have to signup for both schools! One signup will contribute to BOTH school's totals!!!
If that's not enough of an incentive and you are STILL wondering about whether or not to become a member of the ABC/25 Foundation, they are hosting FREE events for members during the non attendance days in January and February. These events might just be the push you need to join up!
If you are already a member, please click on the image below to register for these events!

We appreciate the ongoing partnership and collaboration shared in the Patton community. Please note that there is one conference time for each student.
Fourth and Fifth Grade Parents: The conference times are for meeting with your child's homeroom teacher. If your child has a different teacher for math and you have specific math questions, please email him or her.
