Holy Rosary
NEWSLETTER | TERM 2| WEEK 1| 2 MAY 2025
Dear Jesus,
We ask for your blessing on our school community.
Encircle us with your love and care.
Let our love for others guide our thoughts and actions.
Help Holy Rosary to be a place of sound learning and new discoveries.
Grant that those who belong, those who teach and those who learn will, like St Dominic, find you to be a source of truth to be shared with all those we meet.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord,
Amen
Dear Parents, Friends, Guardians, and Staff,
It is wonderful to see so many happy faces at school, with our students proudly wearing their winter uniforms. Our uniform looks fantastic, and seeing the children in ties has inspired me to wear one as well.
This morning was particularly special as our Pre-primary students participated in our opening school mass, and our dramatically growing choir sang beautifully. As part of our mission to foster quality relationships, our students have begun learning the Friendology curriculum. I had the privilege of teaching a lesson in Kindy this week, where we discussed the importance of being our own BFF (Best Friend Forever) by being kind to ourselves and practicing positive self-talk.
As partners in your child's education, we value your support. We have an informative and engaging parent session coming up, and we will send a link and access code to help you support your children in learning about quality relationships. Working together on this topic will have a long-term positive impact on your children's relationships, benefiting them in their teenage years and beyond.
Staffing Update: As our Year 1 Dominic parents are aware, Miss Fiona Ayling is temporarily teaching this class while we actively seek a suitable permanent teacher. Miss Ayling has been fantastic, and we are grateful for her amazing contribution.
I will be writing to all parents of children in support classes on Monday to outline the move to high-impact support classes.
Upcoming Events: Next week, our students will have the opportunity to purchase gifts from our new Mother's Day stall on Wednesday. We will also celebrate our wonderful mothers with a breakfast and assembly on Friday.
Have a fantastic weekend and enjoy your democracy sausage!
Warm regards,
Michael O'Dwyer
Principal

Mother’s Day Breakfast 💕
Join us at 7:30am on Friday 9th May for the Holy Rosary School Mother's Day Breakfast. A celebration of all our amazing Mums. We’re so grateful for your love and support! ❤️
Aloha! Next week is the Scholastic Book Fair in the library. The LUAU themed Fair is lots of fun, which gives our Library Monitors some leadership opportunities and provides lots of FREE new books (and funds) for our school library.
This week, the children were given a brochure to bring home, with online payment details overleaf. On Wednesday, classes are visiting the fair in school time to complete their wish list to bring home.
We ask that different year groups attend the Fair on different days to spread out the crowds and reduce time queueing outside.
Kindy/PP - parents are invited to attend on Thursday morning 8.15-9am.
Year 1 - parents are invited to attend on Thursday afternoon 3-3.45pm.
Year 2 - parents are invited to attend on Friday morning 8.15-9am
Kindy - Year 2 Parents will have access to the EFT machine during their shopping time. If Kindy, PP, Yr 1 or Yr 2 parents cannot attend these times, please complete the online payment form and give it to your child’s class teacher on Thursday morning for them to arrange the book collection with me on Thursday.
Year 3 and 4 students will shop independently on Thursday at lunchtime.
Year 5 and 6 students will shop independently on Friday at lunchtime.
Students can pay with cash or use the receipted online payment form in their shopping time. Please ensure the receipt number and payment amount is clearly noted and maybe take a copy/screenshot in case it gets mislaid/wet/damaged on the way.
Students will not be authorised to use large notes ($50 plus) without a parent note nor to use a parent’s credit card. Instead, please pay online and send in the completed form.
Please note the Book Fair will close after lunch on Friday.
Thank you to the parents who have volunteered to help. If you are able to assist after school (3-3.30pm) on Thursday or before school (8.15-9am) on Friday, please contact me via the front office or email admin@hrs.wa.edu.au
Thank you so much for your support.
See you next week!

“Sometimes our strengths lie beneath the surface … Far beneath, in some cases.” – Moana
This week our whole school community commenced Friendology, URSTRONG’s whole-school friendship strategy which has improved the social climate in schools around the world, connecting over a million kids, parents, and teachers with a common language of friendship. We are proud to be a URSTRONG School and are committed to empowering your children with friendship skills.
In Week 5, students will participate in a “Day of Friendship” with their buddies where they will have the opportunity to use and develop their new skills in a fun environment. Parents will be invited to participate in online training also so that we are all speaking the same language and supporting our children to be the best friends they can be, to themselves and to others. More information will follow in the newsletter over the next few weeks. We are excited to share this learning journey with you!
