Hot off the Press !!!
Please take some time and click the button below! Mrs. McKenna has assembled a great group of young writers who have an interest in creating a newspaper. They meet during their lunch time to compile the month's stories and to produce the school newspaper. I love sitting down with these great writers for my principal interview each month. They use their love of writing to share all about Farwell. Check out their great work. Thank you, Mrs. McKenna, and your newspaper team!

School Meals for the 2022-2023 School Year
The current USDA waiver that has allowed school districts to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students is set to expire at the end of this school year. This means that for the 2022-2023 school year, we will be transitioning back to regular prices for school meals, with free/reduced price meals for qualified families. We realize that will be a shift for all of our families and want to be sure you are aware now. Students with an approved free/reduced meal application on file will continue to be covered under that application through October 13, 2022. Meals are still free for all students through the last day of this school year.
Free/reduced meal applications for the 22-23 school year will be available in Mid-August. If any changes occur to the USDA waiver for the 22-23 school year, we will let you know.
ASB Dine Out - Chipotle
Our last ASB dine out for this school year will be at the Northside Chipotle, on Wednesday, June 15th. Stop on in or drive thru to get a great meal for you or your family. Thank you for supporting Farwell.

Nurses Nook
Happy June, Parents!
It's hard to believe the school year is coming to a close, and it's time to prepare the care plans for the 2022-2023 school year already! If your student has a current care plan (diabetes, asthma, anaphylaxis, cardiac, etc) with us, you should receive your student's 22-23 school year care plan in the mail by the end of this week. If you don't receive it by 06/10/2022, please send me an email at cate.armstrong@mead354.org to let me know so I can get another one out to you ASAP.
Thank you for your continued support in helping us follow the current illness guidelines, which can be found HERE . We are still providing free rapid COVID testing at school for students. This is a drive up test at Farwell anytime between 9:15am - 2:45pm. Pull up in the loop, call the front desk, and they will send me or my health aide out to do the swab. If your student has already had a COVID test with us this year, no need to register again. If they have not had a rapid test this year, please register HERE before arriving. We are also still offering PCR testing for all household members before 12:45pm by registering HERE .
If you perform a COVID test at home, we are now accepting home tests. Please fill out the required attestation form and return it to me before your student returns to school. This can either be emailed to cate.armstrong@mead354.org , or dropped off in person at the office.
Please remember that if the first test was done less than 48 hours into symptoms, a 2nd test is required 24 hours later.
As a friendly reminder, you can order twice a month now from Say Yes COVID test for up to 10 home tests a month, shipped directly to you. We also have a limited supply of home tests we can provide you with, if you are out.
If your student is testing negative for COVID, but has a persistent cough and/or fever, please know that there are recent confirmed cases of influenza A at school, as well as whooping cough (pertussis) in the community. We recommend getting your student evaluated by their pediatrician if they are having persistent symptoms.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions. We appreciate your partnership in keeping our students safe and healthy!
Sincerely,
Cate Armstrong, LPN
