May Update
As we move into the final stretch of the school year, things are getting exciting—and busy! We have many field trips and special events planned over the coming weeks, so please be sure to check your emails regularly for updates and permission forms. Timely responses help us ensure all students can participate and enjoy these enriching experiences.
With the warmer weather now here, we also want to remind families to make sure students are coming to school each day with a water bottle. Staying hydrated is so important, especially during outdoor activities. Hats are also a great idea for sun protection during recess, gym, and field trips.
Be sure to check your emails for an important message regarding fire protocols.
The Oilers have made it into the Western Conference! Be sure to show your Oilers pride by dressing you in Oilers gear or wearing blue and orange! Have a great May long weekend!

EIPS Witness Blanket Exhibit
EIPS has the honour of hosting the Witness Blanket this year. The Witness Blanket is a profound and powerful exhibit from the Canadian Museum for Human Rights created by master carver Carey Newman. The art installation was created to recognize the atrocities of residential schools, honour the children and survivors, and symbolize ongoing reconciliation. Bookings for the exhibit will be open to EIPS schools first and then open to Elk Island Catholic Schools. The exhibit will be open to the public on Saturdays. The exhibition will take place:

Red Shirt Day

We encourage staff and students to wear red in support of accessibility and inclusion on this day.
Did You Know?
Each school has a School Education Plan on its website. Annually, these plans are updated for the next school year to reflect schools’ goals, strategies and measures—all based on priorities found in the EIPS Four-Year Education Plan. School administration update their plans after reviewing school-specific results from the EIPS Annual Feedback Survey and consulting with staff, families and school councils in April. A School Education Plan helps a school community focus on what’s most important in its own specific context from year to year. To view your child’s School Education Plan, visit your school’s website and find the relevant home page block.
EIPS Annual Education Results Report
Every year, Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) publishes an Annual Education Results Report, which outlines the Division’s Four-Year Education Plan, growth opportunities and how it supports students in achieving the best possible outcomes. Read through this year’s EIPS Annual Education Results Report 2023-24 and discover how EIPS fosters learning environments for all students to learn, grow and thrive—and why it matters.
