BOYNTON ELEMENTARY
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
WELCOME TO DECEMBER! It’s the most WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR! A time to be MERRY & BRIGHT! A month filled with joy and giving from the heart. As the holiday season approaches, I hope you're all enjoying the festive spirit and making cherished memories with your loved ones. December is a special time at Boynton, filled with excitement, learning, and community involvement.
Here's a glimpse of what's happening this month:
- In the Classroom: Teachers will continue to teach the standards and students will be engaged in a variety of fun learning activities. During the month of December, students will also take their Winter Benchmark MAP tests in Reading and Math. Please encourage your child to do their very best on these benchmark assessments. Teachers will use this important data to guide instructioin and meet the individual needs of their students.
- Special Events & Dress Up Days: There will be many spirit days throughout the month for your child to participate in. Check out the Important Dates & Events section to read our daily special days. We will also push out texts to remind everyone. It's going to be so much fun! Please make sure you check the Important Dates section of this newsletter so that you will know what is happening during this very busy month. We are also having our annual Santa Shop and Santa Pictures this month. The Santa Shop gives your child/children the opportunity to shop for gifts for their family members for Christmas. The kids love being able to be independent shoppers and surprise their family with gifts. It's going to be a month full of excitement!
- Holiday Performances: Our Chorus will have their annual Christmas Chorus Concert. We are looking forward to seeing our extremely talented Chorus students perform and bring us the warmth of the holiday season. It's going to be a great show. You don't want to miss this! Mark your calendars for this upcoming event: Christmas Chorus Concert - Tuesdsay, December 3rd @ 6:30 PM @ HHS
- Community Service: We encourage our students, staff, parents, and business partners to give back to the community during this season of giving. We'll be collecting toys for the Stocking Full of Love Toy Drive. If you are interested in participating in this toy drive, please bring in a new toy. Toys do not need to be wrapped. A second way that our school community can get involved this month is through our Boynton Angel Tree. Please contact our school counselor, Jennifer Bell, if you are in need of assistant providing Christmas for your family or if you would like to help purchase gifts for Boynton students who may not have a Christmas without our help.
I hope that the warmth of the holidays will inspire you to continue to think of others and encourage our studens to give. I’m looking forward to the positive outcomes we will have with our Boynton Angel Tree and Stocking Full of Love Toy Drive this month. I know that together we can make many children’s dreams come true this holiday season.
- Winter Break Reminders: Please remember that our school will be closed for winter break from Monday, December 23rd to Monday, January 6th. Students will return on Tuesday, January 7th. I wish each and every one of you a safe and joyous holiday season filled with love, laughter, and relaxation. I am grateful for your continued support and partnership. Together, we can make this December a truly magical time for our students.
Warmest wishes,
Mrs. Scott

PBIS Focus: TEAM PLAYER
Team Player Skills continue to be the focus of instruction this nine weeks.
Students have many opportunities during the day to practice their Teamwork skills.
Successful teamwork requires getting along with everyone in the group.
1. Show Respect and Kindness - good manners, kind words
2. Be an Active Listener - eye contact, give full attention
3. Demonstrate Teamwork - value others’ input, respect others’ ideas
Please click on the link to complete our PBIS Stakeholder Survey. We would love your feedback.
Thank you in advance for supporting your child and our school.
We appreciate the Teamwork!
BOYNTON BEYOND
Boynton Beyond will be closed the following dates:
December 20, March 12, March 28, May 22 and May 23.
Please remember Boynton Beyond ends promptly at 6:00 PM. Any student not received by 6:00 PM will be charged the late rate fee of $2.00 per minute in addition to the regular hourly rate.
We are entering a season of sickness. We have taken precautions in our classrooms to control the germs. If we call to let you know your student is ill and has a temp, we follow the same policy as during the school hours. Someone will have to come get the student, and they can't return to school until they are fever free, vomit free, diarrhea free for 24 hours. Thank you for your help!
MEDIA NEWS
We are gearing up for an amazing end of the year as we review all the wonderful things we've accomplished together! We will continue our Creative Fun Fridays, which the students love. This is a fantastic time for them to play with Magna Tiles, Spheros, blocks, and more!
I’m excited to announce a new feature in our library: Library Leaders and Library Leaders in Training. These students will assist in preparing the library for patrons each morning. Our team includes four fifth-grade students—Berkleigh McLain, Brantley Moore, Kyleigh Mozingo, and Haydin Wright—as well as two Library Leaders in Training, Gianna Morales, third grade and Makenslee Day, fourth grade. These students have shown exceptional leadership, and I trust them to help me throughout the school year. Keep an eye out for their pictures and names on our website and social media the week we return from break!
Have an incredible break.

SCIENCE-TECHNOLOGY-ENGINEERING-MATH
This month in STEM our students are staying busy with hands-on activities and creative engineering challenges. Our activities are sparking curiosity and building critical thinking skills. Highlights include coding basics, exploring winter-themed science projects, and learning about the role of STEM in holiday traditions. We're fostering a love for discovery while preparing young minds for the future!
NOTES FROM THE NURSE
Flu season can begin early, and the CDC recommends an annual influenza vaccination for everyone 6 months and older. Once you receive the flu vaccine it can take up to 2 weeks for antibodies to develop. If you should have any health concerns, always consult your PCP prior to any vaccination. Below are ways you, and your family can ensure you, and others stay safe:
** Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
If no soap and water, use an alcohol based hand sanitizer.
** Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
** Stay home if you are sick to prevent spread of infection to others.
If you have any questions, or concerns please call me at 706-866-1521.
