From the Principal's Desk—
Hello Hilltopper Families:
As we dive into another exciting month at our school, we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible efforts our students have been putting forth! Our Topper Ticket system continues to motivate and inspire, encouraging students to demonstrate their best behavior and academic dedication. Each ticket represents a small step towards big achievements and it's heartwarming to see our young learners take pride in earning them. Be sure to ask your child how many tickets they’ve earned and how they earned them!
In addition to earning Topper tickets, our students are actively participating in math flex groups, designed to meet them where they are and enhance their skills. These flexible group settings allow our teachers to tailor lessons to individual needs, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to excel. Whether they're mastering addition, tackling fractions, or exploring new concepts, our students are growing in confidence and ability, and we’re so proud of their progress!
Reading skills groups with Mrs. Lippert and Mrs. Kalis are also in full swing, providing our students with targeted support to strengthen their literacy skills. We encourage you to support your child’s reading journey at home by exploring new books together and sharing stories. Thank you for your continued partnership in helping our students shine!
Be sure to check out the Community Flyers section of the Chardon Website for amazing opportunities and events for our students!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Makee

Math Flex Groups
This year, we’re launching flexible math groups for grades 1, 2, and 3. Students from each grade will be organized into small, adaptable groups to support differentiated instruction and collaborative learning. This approach enables teachers to tailor their support to each student’s current level, helping them develop their skills while promoting participation and teamwork within these smaller groups.
Sources of Strength
Mrs. Makee is truly in her element this month as she teaches her lessons on Sources of Strength; what an opportunity to connect with Park students in the classroom. This month's focus on community has sparked engaging discussions and lively activities, allowing her to share the importance of support and connection. Students have enjoyed collaborating and reflecting on their own experiences and interests while finding other students in their classroom community who share the same likes and dislikes they do.

Grades
Grades are now visible in Infinite Campus. Please note that these grades reflect your child's most recent assessments and in-class work. They are an indication of progress made thus far.
These grades provide a snapshot of your child’s current performance and areas of growth. Please keep in mind that there is still ample time for students to improve and demonstrate their understanding as the quarter progresses.
If you have any questions or need further clarification about your child’s grades or their progress, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher. We are here to support you and your child in any way we can to ensure their success. Thank you for your continued partnership in your child’s education.
