“May Jesus come to bless our students on their Confirmation Day. May they feel His loving presence in a very special way. And as they strive to follow in His footsteps, may He bless our students lives with many graces and lasting happiness. Amen.”
Dear Parents and Carers
Our Year 6 students are making their Confirmation this Saturday. Please keep them in your prayers. They participated in their Confirmation Retreat on Monday which was run by the 24-7 Ministry Group. The students enjoyed their day with the group.
Many thanks to the staff involved in the Parent /Teacher interviews last Thursday. Most families
made time to meet with the classroom teachers. It is always important to know how your child/ren
are progressing so they continue to do well at school.
Next week I will be offsite participating in a school and principal review in a school North of the river. I will be away from Tuesday to and including Friday. Mr Yock will be in charge during my absence.
I would like to thank Mr Chatt for organising the Cross Country. Once again it was extremely
well organised and run. There were some outstanding performances by individual students.
Congratulations to all the students who participated, and it was pleasing to see everyone trying
so hard. A big thank you to all the parents and staff who were involved supervising and providing
help as marshals. Your help made the morning run very smoothly.
The school will be participating in a Quality Catholic Education School Review in July. It will involve a panel coming into the school and interviewing staff , students, SAC and P&F Exec members discussing the processes the school follows for self-review and school improvement.
There is a School Advisory Council meeting this coming Monday at 7:00pm in the school staffroom.
Friday 31 May is a pupil free day. Staff will not be onsite.
God bless
Allen McMahon
Principal

National Sorry Day
National Sorry Day is a day to acknowledge the strength of Stolen Generations Survivors and reflect on how we can all play a part in the healing process for our people and nation. While this date carries great significance for the Stolen Generations and other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, it is also commemorated by Australians right around the country.
Thank you to our Year 4 classes for leading our Sorry Day Assembly on Friday 24 May, at 9am for all Year 1-6 classes.
2024 St Columba’s Cross Country Carnival
Students in Years 3 to 6 attended the St Columba’s Cross Country Carnival on Tuesday.
The students represented their faction over various race distances for their year level. The students were wonderful sports people cheering their faction and competitors on. At the end of the carnival it was McMahon who proved themselves worthy to win the Carnival.
A special thank you to any parent helpers and supporters who attended the event.

Hi St Columba's family and friends,
I hope everyone is enjoying this wonderful weather and staying healthy.
With the term in full swing, the P&F is turning its attention towards the next event.
We are pleased to be holding National Tree Day at St Columba's this year. Our Kindy and Year 6 students will be planting a number of beautiful shrubs at the front of the school grounds.
Building on our relationship with the City of South Perth, we will be working together on this event which will provide so many benefits for both our children, the school and the environment. More information to come.
You would have also noticed a poll going around in your year groups. We are proposing to hold an adults only event this year on Saturday, 2 November. If you could please submit your preference, this will be a huge help.
Have a wonderful week everyone.
