Congratulations on your child's upcoming promotion from Dodge Traditional Magnet Middle School. We are eager to celebrate this landmark with you and your child.

The promotion ceremony will be held at Palo Verde High Magnet School, located at 1302 S. Avenida Vega Street, Tucson, AZ 85710, on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 5:30 pm.

Please ensure your child arrives no later than 5:15 pm for the procession. Students will be staged in the Little Theater directly across from the auditorium.

Eighth-grade promotion is a formal ceremony, and we are guests of Palo Verde High Magnet School; therefore, the following items are not permitted in the auditorium.

Food or drinks (except water)

Balloons or signs

Air horns or noise making devices

You will be asked to return items to your vehicle.

Parking will be available on the south side of the campus for all guests. Due to limited available handicap parking, we ask that families drop off anyone in their party needing access on the east side of the auditorium (see map blue area) and then park in the large parking lot on the south side of the campus (see map yellow area).

Please note that the first several rows in the auditorium will be reserved for Dodge students and staff. Students will process down the center aisle when the ceremony begins. During the ceremony, students will enter the stage from the left and exit on the right. We ask that you leave the center aisle free for students to return to their seat and for all families to have view of their child. If you need assistance with seating, please let someone know when you arrive.

We know you are proud of your child and that planning for this event has taken great care.

We encourage students to dress up for this special occasion. Here are a few considerations for your child's attire while crossing the stage.

Shoes should be manageable for your child to navigate the stage and stairs.

Dresses should be modest from all angles as your child will be above seat level on stage.

All TUSD Dress Code policies must be observed.

This is a memory you will want to cherish forever. We will have each child pause on stage as they accept their certificate; however, we know not all of you will be able to get that perfect picture from your seats, therefore, we will be photographing each child as they exit the stage.

Our eighth -grade classes will be practicing for our promotion ceremony on Monday, May 19 and Tuesday, May 20. Please assist us in helping your child confidently prepare for promotion by attending these days.

We are truly grateful for all of our families at Dodge. We would like to extend our appreciation to the families active in our Parent Advisory Council who prepared the decorations and gift bags presented to our students.
